Mobifone promptly handles and minimizes communication interruptions for customers.

On October 1, a representative of the network operator Mobifone said that storm No. 10, with its strong intensity and wide range of influence, has caused heavy damage in many provinces in the North and Central regions. Heavy rain, gusts of wind, flash floods and landslides have caused power outages in many areas, disrupted traffic, and seriously affected people's lives.

According to the representative of Mobifone network, in Thai Binh , Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh to the North Central and Central provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh... the storm circulation caused heavy rain, strong gusts of wind, high floods on rivers, many areas were flooded and widespread power outages. This caused many obstacles in maintaining communication. To ensure smooth communication lines, MobiFone forces were on duty 24/24, urgently responding during the storm. MobiFone network centers in the North and Central regions arranged forces on duty 24/24, mobilizing personnel and equipment to promptly fix the problem. Many rescue teams were mobilized from Da Nang to Hue, from the North to Nghe An with full generators, testing equipment, backup batteries... to quickly restore communication.

Some MobiFone stores and transaction centers in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh suffered water leaks and damaged signs, while in Nghe An, the damage situation cannot be fully estimated due to extreme weather and prolonged power outages. Despite the difficulties, MobiFone staff always strive to stay open, ensuring the safety of people and customers.

During the storm, MobiFone network centers in the North and Central regions arranged 24/7 staff, mobilized personnel and equipment to promptly fix the problem. Many rescue teams were mobilized from Da Nang to Hue, from the North to Nghe An with full generators, testing equipment, backup batteries... to quickly restore communication.

Along with the front line, MobiFone Network Management and Operation Center also proactively monitors comprehensively, arranges 24/7 duty, is ready to route traffic, open bandwidth and activate backup channels when incidents occur. Thanks to this preparation, when many transmission lines are broken, MobiFone promptly handles it, minimizing communication interruptions for customers.

Not only focusing on restoring infrastructure, the MobiFone transaction store system has also quickly become a practical support for people. Many stores have operated generators, opened to serve the community, and supported people to charge their phones for free to maintain connection with family and loved ones during power outages.

In difficult circumstances, this small but meaningful action has brought peace of mind and essential support to people in storm-hit areas. MobiFone stores are not only places that provide telecommunication services, but also become "relief stations" to help the community overcome disasters.

In natural disasters, people not only need material things but also need sharing and companionship. Images of MobiFone engineers braving the rain and wading through water to check transmission stations; stores open all day to support people… have become proof of the spirit of “MobiFone people for the community”.

From the frontline forces to the operations department, from the network infrastructure to the store system, all are closely connected and coordinated with the common goal: maintaining the information wave, accompanying the people and local authorities in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.

Together with Mobifone network, a representative of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) said that VNPT is making every effort to reach the problem points as soon as possible to ensure connection for people in the area. About 600 technical staff and dozens of cranes, generators and many equipment and materials have been mobilized by VNPT from other provinces to support Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Quang Tri to fix network problems. VNPT has used satellite transmission at BTS stations Muong Lat, Bat Mot and Quan Son of Thanh Hoa, and has mobilized additional Inmarsat satellites to ensure specialized information for operations and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and ongoing floods.

VNPT has also deployed two-way roaming between Vinaphone mobile network and other networks in the provinces: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Lao Cai, Bao Lam/Cao Bang district.

In Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Phu Tho, and Thai Nguyen provinces, the storm's flood and rain caused power outages, so some BTS stations lost contact. However, VNPT units promptly deployed rescue and restoration efforts, so VNPT's telecommunications network still ensured communication services for the government and people.

Currently, the Lo River is rising and continues to rise, causing some communes in Tuyen Quang province to be completely submerged. To cope with the situation of large floods that may continue to occur, appropriate plans for transmission systems, equipment, materials and resources are being deployed to be ready to rescue the network in Tuyen Quang.
