In his opening speech, Mr. Dao Ngoc Chien, Director of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED ), expressed his deep gratitude to the members of the Scientific Research Council for the 2020-2022 and 2022-2024 terms for their dedicated and persistent contributions, contributing to building a public and transparent academic foundation for scientific research activities in Vietnam.
Mr. Dao Ngoc Chien hopes that the Scientific Council for the 2024 - 2026 term, with a team of interdisciplinary experts with rich practical experience, will not only be a place for appraisal and evaluation but also become an "extended arm" to orient policies, spread the spirit of science serving society, and promote innovation to every field and every locality.

At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh, Deputy Director of NAFOSTED announced Decision No. 38/QD-HDQL-NAFOSTED on the consolidation of the Research Council. Accordingly, members of the Research Council are scientists with outstanding research achievements, meeting the expert criteria according to Circular 37/2014/TT-BKHCN, trusted and recommended by the academic community.
The Research Council for the 2024-2026 term consists of 12 specialized and interdisciplinary councils, spanning from natural sciences, engineering, medicine and pharmacy, agriculture to social sciences and humanities, forming a widely linked academic network, directly supporting the Fund's funding activities.

Speaking on behalf of the new Scientific Council, Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Son, President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, affirmed that participating in the Council is an honor, and pledged that the Scientific Council will work objectively, fairly, and transparently, contributing to improving the quality of scientific research in general and NCUD in particular.
