In 2024, the agricultural sector overcame many difficulties, especially the impact of natural disasters, and strived to fulfill the set tasks. The total production value of the sector is estimated at 29,665 billion VND. Regarding new rural construction, it is expected to recognize 13 more communes as advanced NTM, 2 communes as model NTM, thus the whole province has 40 advanced NTM communes, 3 model NTM communes; there are 216 OCOP products of 173 entities.

In 2025, the industry strives for a 3.6% increase in agricultural, forestry and fishery production value compared to 2024; 15 communes achieving advanced NTM status, of which 4 or more communes strive to achieve model NTM status; and 1 or more districts to achieve advanced NTM status.

Speaking at the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the agricultural sector in 2024 - a year with many difficulties and challenges, and pointed out a number of shortcomings and limitations that need to be focused on overcoming to achieve the set goals in 2025.

He requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to review and evaluate the organizational structure, streamline focal points, and rearrange the staff, civil servants, and public employees. Closely follow the assigned plans and targets to build growth scenarios for the agricultural sector in each field. Resolutely organize and implement tasks right from the beginning of the year. In particular, the agricultural sector needs to be more determined and continue to persistently carry out the task of building the province's rice brand. At the same time, together with the districts, promote the program of building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas, striving to have 1 advanced new rural district in 2025. The sector proactively researches and proposes contents related to the province's new rural area construction program for the period 2026 - 2030.
