(NLDO) - The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that today, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will be chilly in the early morning, gradually becoming hot in the afternoon with a dangerous UV index.

Today, February 7, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces is mainly cloudy, sunny during the day, sometimes hot, no rain at night; early morning air is chilly.

In the Southern region, the Northeast wind is at level 2-3 with the lowest temperature ranging from 21-24 degrees Celsius, in the Eastern region some places below 21 degrees Celsius; the highest temperature is commonly between 30-33 degrees Celsius, in some places above 33 degrees Celsius.

In Ho Chi Minh City alone, the lowest temperature is forecast to be 22 degrees Celsius and the highest to be 33 degrees Celsius.

Today, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City is sunny, the UV index is high, sometimes at extreme levels (level 11).

Along with that, the UV index (ultraviolet rays) in all districts and counties reaches high to very high levels from nearly 9am to nearly 3pm. At times, the UV index can reach 11, an extreme level that is dangerous for the skin.

In addition, data from the AirVisual application, a reputable platform that monitors air quality in the United States, shows that the level of fine dust in Ho Chi Minh City regularly exceeds the health safety threshold. This causes the sky to appear cloudy and is harmful to respiratory diseases.

Therefore, people need to proactively protect their bodies from ultraviolet rays such as wearing glasses, hats, wearing sun-protective clothing and limiting direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours and minimizing the effects of fine dust on health and the respiratory system.

In addition, today, the sea area from Quang Tri to Ca Mau is expected to have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes reaching level 7, gusting to level 8-9. Waves in this area are 3-5 meters high, causing rough seas. Ships operating in the area face a high risk of tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
