Accordingly, to ensure the safety of fishermen and boats, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Civil Defense Command of Nghe An province requested the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Civil Defense Command of coastal communes and wards; the Provincial Border Guard Command; Head of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control; heads of relevant units to urgently implement the ban on all types of boats and means of transport from going to sea from 10:00 a.m. on October 5. Boats operating at sea must return to shore to anchor to ensure safety before 13:00 on the same day.
The telegram also requires relevant agencies and units to use all means and measures to inform ships at sea about the storm's developments, guide and call on ships to return to safe shelters or escape from dangerous areas. Provide guidance on anchoring ships at shelters (including tourist ships and transport ships); organize the relocation and anchoring of aquaculture cages and floating houses to ensure safety; regularly report implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee (through the Provincial Civil Defense Command).
Nghe An province has 82 km of coastline, the whole province has a total of nearly 2,900 fishing vessels and boats with about 13,070 workers and thousands of rafts.
Implementing the sea ban order, on the morning of October 5, the Coastal Border Guard Stations under the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command deployed forces, used canoes to coordinate with local authorities and police and military forces... to focus on informing, calling, and guiding vehicles to safe anchorage and storm shelters.
