The Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of Nghe An province has just issued Official Dispatch No. 13 to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of coastal districts and towns; Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Information and Communications, Transport; Provincial Border Guard Command; North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station; Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station to respond to the developments of storm MAN-YI.

The telegram stated:

Implementing Official Letter No. 8712/CD-BNN-DD dated November 17, 2024 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on responding to storm MAN-YI near the East Sea; According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, super storm MAN-YI is active in the sea area east of the central Philippines; it is forecasted that on November 18, the storm will enter the East Sea with an intensity of level 12, gusting to level 15; To proactively respond to the storm's developments, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention and Control requests the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of coastal districts and towns and relevant agencies and units to implement the following contents:

1. Closely monitor the storm's developments; manage vessels at sea; organize ship and boat counting; notify owners of vessels and captains of vessels operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.

Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: From latitude 14.0-19.0 degrees North, east of longitude 118.0 degrees East; in the next 48 hours: From latitude 15.0-21.0 degrees North, east of longitude 113.5 degrees East (dangerous areas are adjusted according to forecast bulletins).

2. Prepare forces and means for rescue when requested.

3. Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and mass media agencies strengthen measures to inform about the storm's developments to authorities at all levels, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond promptly and effectively.

4. Departments and branches, according to their state management functions and tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and be ready to respond to storm developments.

5. Organize on-duty seriously and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue./.
