Mr. Loc recounted the encounter with the subject who attacked the People's Committee headquarters in Dak Lak .
Quickly summarize the subject
On the afternoon of June 17, the family of Mr. Tran Thanh Loc (63 years old, residing in village 24, Ea Ning commune, Cu Kuin district) gathered to clear the coffee garden to search for weapons because they suspected that the suspect who attacked the commune People's Committee headquarters in Dak Lak had left them behind after being restrained and arrested by him.
Mr. Loc said that on the morning of June 11, when people learned that the police and military forces were pursuing the group of people who attacked the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes (Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak), they fled to the village. Without anyone telling them, the elderly and women closed their doors and stayed inside their houses to ensure safety, while men and young people prepared knives, machetes, and sticks to support the authorities.
In the cornfield of Mr. Loc's neighbor, the mobile police force and local residents discovered a group of about 5-6 people hiding, so they surrounded them. Immediately after, 2 people were arrested, and 1 person surrendered.
Mr. Tran Thanh Loc recounted the process of controlling and arresting the subject.
“ According to initial information, the group that ran to the village consisted of 5-6 people, but only 3 of them were caught, so I suspected that they were still hiding in my garden or other gardens in the village. At 4 p.m. on June 11, my son-in-law and I took knives to the coffee garden to check if any of the subjects were still hiding. When checking the fence next door, my father and I discovered signs that someone had broken down the fence to get into my garden ,” Mr. Loc recounted.
Sure enough, a few meters from the trampled fence, Mr. Loc and his son encountered a man wearing camouflage pants and a hooded sweatshirt hiding in a coffee tree.
“ I told my son-in-law to bend down to search because the coffee and pepper garden was quite dense. A few steps from the trampled fence, I bent down to part the coffee bushes when I came face to face with a subject wearing camouflage pants, a T-shirt, and a hood. Our faces were only about a hand's breadth away, enough to hear the subject's breathing. In that situation, with my right hand, I grabbed the subject's collar tightly, with my left hand I held a knife to his neck and shouted loudly: 'Lie still, if you resist, you will be taken down', ” Mr. Loc recounted the time of encountering and controlling the subject.
Immediately after that, Mr. Loc and his son took off their shirts, tied the subject up and took him to the yard. “ I tore my shirt and my son-in-law quickly helped tie the subject’s hands to mine and led him to the yard. To prevent him from running away, I walked in front, my son-in-law followed behind and declared that if he ran away, he would be killed. The subject kept asking for forgiveness, repeating the phrase “I was wrong, please forgive me ,” Mr. Loc recalled.
After escorting the suspect to the yard, Mr. Loc and his son were supported by villagers who restrained the suspect from escaping and handed him over to the police.
“ My father and I continued to check the garden and discovered a bayonet, some bullets and a dry food sack at another coffee tree. Everything was handed over to the authorities immediately after that ,” said Mr. Loc.
Also according to Mr. Loc, today, taking advantage of the sunny weather, his family continued to clean the garden to search because they suspected that there were still guns left by the suspect. " We discovered some bullets so I suspect that they threw guns around here ," Mr. Loc commented.
Coffee tree in Mr. Loc's garden, where the suspect was hiding, was controlled.
The whole village hunted down the suspects.
Mr. Nguyen Manh The (46 years old, Farmers' Association of Village 23, Ea Ning Commune) said that at about 8:00 a.m. on June 11, he and everyone else were working in the field when they heard a series of gunshots and the sound of running footsteps. Immediately after, when the police informed them that they were hunting down the group of people who attacked the Commune People's Committee headquarters, the villagers immediately gathered to support.
“ The group of suspects fled in the coffee plantations, with the police and army chasing them. The villagers and I were familiar with the terrain, so some used sticks and knives to help guide the chase and capture the group. From the morning of June 11 to June 13, the men and boys in the village worked side by side with the police and army to chase and surround the group, ” said Mr. The.
Led by the locals, the pursuit force continuously searched, forcing the group to abandon their guns, knives, and backpacks and flee. Some of the subjects ran to the outskirts of the village and were arrested by the police and locals.
“ In recent days, people continued to search for and confiscate some of the weapons that this group left behind in the coffee plantation and handed them over to the police ,” said Mr. The.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh, Head of Village 24, Ea Ning Commune, recounted that at around 9:00 a.m. on June 11, the subjects ran to the village and were discovered by some people who were working in the fields. These people called to inform her. Based on the information reported by the people, Ms. Vinh promptly reported to the police force to arrest them.
“ When we learned that the groups had hidden all their weapons, the people immediately called on each other to surround and capture them. Right behind my garden, two suspects who were hiding were arrested on the morning of June 11. After that, the people in village 24 continued to chase, surround and capture one suspect, handing him over to the authorities, ” said Ms. Vinh.
The backpack and machete the suspect left behind in the coffee plantation were found by Ea Ning residents on the morning of June 17.
Talking about the solidarity of the people in supporting the police and military forces, Ms. Vinh said that to prevent the group from returning to attack, the people of village 24 told the elderly and children to stay in their houses, lock them carefully, and absolutely no one was allowed to go out. All the young people and healthy people equipped themselves with knives, machetes, sticks, etc. to coordinate with the functional forces to sweep. Hundreds of people searched every coffee plantation, ditch, stream, bush, etc. to discover and help the police force arrest a number of other subjects.
“ This morning, people continued to search and discovered the backpack and machete the suspect left behind in the coffee plantation, and brought them here to hand over to the police, ” said Ms. Vinh.
