Sources said that on the morning of August 15, the eldest son who was living with artist Phuoc Sang noticed that his father's room was unusually quiet, so he went upstairs to check and found him lying motionless, not responding when called.
Suspecting that he had a stroke again, the son called an ambulance to take his father to Thong Nhat Hospital (Tan Binh, Ho Chi Minh City).
Doctors said Phuoc Sang's prognosis was poor because he had suffered three strokes and had high blood pressure. Fortunately, at 11 p.m. the same day, he regained consciousness and was allowed to leave the emergency room. The male artist was out of danger, although he could not speak yet.
Hearing the news, many colleagues rushed to visit Phuoc Sang. People's Artist Hong Van looked at her close friend with emotion, saying that he promised to get well soon so that she could rest assured. Phuoc Sang, though weak, still recognized his colleagues.

Artist Phuoc Sang suffered three strokes, most recently in March 2024, and was treated at the Emergency Cardiology Department of Thong Nhat Hospital (HCMC). For many years, he has lived with high blood pressure and some post-stroke complications.
Last April, Phuoc Sang participated in filming for the movie Getting Rich with Ghosts 2: Diamond War with a guest role as a camera shop owner, Mr. Nhay's friend (played by Hoai Linh).
The film crew took him to the filming location in Ho Chi Minh City, filming for about a day.
When director Trung Lun invited him, Phuoc Sang hesitated because of his poor health and fear of affecting the overall progress of the film crew. In the end, he nodded because he wanted to meet his close friend - artist Hoai Linh.
During filming, Phuoc Sang had difficulty walking and needed help going up and down stairs, so Trung Lun arranged for staff to be on hand to take care of him when needed.
Due to the after-effects of a stroke, Phuoc Sang's memory has declined significantly and he has difficulty remembering his lines. Trung Lun and Hoai Linh patiently guided him through each line.
Phuoc Sang was born in 1969 in Ho Chi Minh City. He was a famous actor in the 1990s before moving to the role of director, producer and stage manager.
He founded the 135 Hai Ba Trung Comedy Stage (1990), Saigon Drama Stage (1998), Nam Quang Drama Stage (2002) and Phuoc Sang Film Studio (2002).
Phuoc Sang was once known as the "King of Tet movies" with many outstanding works such as: Hello Miss Ba, When Men Get Pregnant, Surrogacy ... along with more than 20 TV series; many music videos , reformed operas, and comedies.
Among them, the film Ao Lua Ha Dong produced by his film studio won the audience's choice award at the Busan International Film Festival, Korea.
In October 2012, Phuoc Sang suffered a business loss and was in debt for billions of dong due to investing in real estate. At the end of that year, his ex-wife, actress Kim Thu, announced their divorce.
After this shock, he almost disappeared, only returning to showbiz around 2020.
