On the morning of November 29, musician Xuan Phuong passed away after a long battle with cancer. He passed away at the age of 50 - the age when he was at the peak of his career.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Meritorious Artist Minh Anh - a member of the trio 3A said that she was very sad and shocked when she heard the news of musician Xuan Phuong's passing. She and the male musician had many good memories while working together.
"Back then, he gave me the song Mong uoc ky niem xua to record for the TV series Xin hay tin em . After that, he asked me to film this song in the program Introducing New Works on VTV, but I suggested that 3A sing it and he agreed.
Mr. Xuan Phuong is not strict with singers, he always lets singers be creative. When he writes music, he often chooses singers suitable for his work, that is, when writing, he "aims" to see who is suitable for that work", singer Minh Anh shared.

Later, when the 3A group was no longer active, Minh Anh worked at the Hanoi College of Arts. Xuan Phuong worked at the Military University of Culture and Arts. The two schools signed a cooperation agreement, which included cooperation in training, scientific research and performance, so the two still met regularly.
Meritorious Artist Minh Anh added that in real life, musician Xuan Phuong is a very funny, easygoing, sociable person and has many impressive and humorous sayings.
"Mr. Xuan Phuong is the head of a music department in the school, so we often meet and discuss work. Because we have been close friends for a long time, we work very comfortably," she said.
Minh Anh shared more: "Mr. Xuan Tu - Xuan Phuong's father is the former principal of Hanoi College of Art, since I was a student at the school. Every year, the school still invites Mr. Xuan Tu to attend some school events, so I became closer to Xuan Phuong."
Last October, Minh Anh and Minh Anh stood on the same stage with Ngoc Anh and sang the song "Mong uoc ky niem xua" after 23 years of separation, making many audiences sob.
Minh Anh said: "That day was Ngoc Anh's live show, she invited my sister and I to go see it, when the show ended, we went up to give her flowers, at that time Ngoc Anh was also singing the song Mong uoc ky niem xua so we sang Xuan Phuong's song together. At that time we were really emotional".
Singer Nguyen Ngoc Anh shared that she was very shocked when she learned of musician Xuan Phuong's passing. Since receiving the sad news, she has cried a lot because she misses her senior.
"He is a gentle, kind, and cheerful person. Working with him is very pleasant. His songs have good lyrics, are soaring, and touch the emotions of the majority of the audience.
When working, each musician has their own requirements. Musician Xuan Phuong requires respect for the correctness in the work, but if the singer wants to change the "note" to make the song better, he also agrees," Ngoc Anh shared.
Ngoc Anh added that recently, she sang the song "If One Day" by musician Xuan Phuong, which Xuan Phuong composed during the Covid-19 period.
"I think the song has gone beyond the framework of a movie (the song in the movie Let's Say I Love You ), the work carries a lot of life emotions, can go beyond the movie to "live" with the audience for a long time.
To me, this is a good song, rare during the past epidemic season. Perhaps, this is one of the last songs he composed."
Ngoc Anh also just learned that musician Xuan Phuong was sick recently. What makes her saddest and most remorseful is that she did not visit the musician during his last days when he was sick.
"But I feel a little more comforted because I sang the song "If One Day " with all my heart. Musician Son Thach and I tried to release a music video for this song. He passed away at a young age, and his career was still long, so everyone is sorry and sad...", Ngoc Anh confided.
Musician Xuan Phuong was born in 1973 in Hung Yen, graduated from the Vietnam National Academy of Music. He is famous for the songs: Lullaby for children, If we have to separate and Wish for old memories ,...
During his lifetime, the musician said that Mong uoc ky niem xua was one of the songs that impressed him the most in his composing career.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, singer Hai Yen Idol said she was shocked to hear of musician Xuan Phuong's death.
"This morning, I was preparing to fly from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City after the show when I received the news. I was heartbroken because life is so unpredictable. For a long time, Mr. Phuong was sick but hid it from his friends and colleagues. It was only recently that he was hospitalized that we found out," the singer said.
Singer Hai Yen said that musician Xuan Phuong's health condition deteriorated rapidly, causing his friends to feel heartbroken. The first time the musician was hospitalized was a few months ago. "At that time, his friends said he was sick, thinking he would simply be in the hospital for 1 or 2 days and then come out," she said.
The 8X singer and musician Xuan Phuong have known each other since she was a student, often singing as a backup singer at tea rooms in Hanoi in the early 2000s.
Hai Yen said: "At that time, I sang and Phuong played the guitar. We officially worked together in 2008. He wrote music for me to perform at a show in Ho Chi Minh City. Later, when I competed in Sao Mai Diem Hen, Phuong also played the guitar in one of the show's music nights."
The female singer said that in her career, she is grateful to musician Xuan Phuong, and that the late artist taught her every line of the song each time she recorded. For Hai Yen, the author of Mong uoc ky niem xua is a talented, sincere artist, loved by many colleagues.
In 2013, Hai Yen performed the song Touching Memories - the song from the movie of the same name - composed by Xuan Phuong. This was also the last time she sang the music of her close brother.
Hai Yen shared: "We haven't seen each other in a long time because I live in Ho Chi Minh City. The last time I met Xuan Phuong was at the end of 2017, during a coffee date in Ho Chi Minh City.
He always smiles, is gentle, friendly and cheerful with everyone. He lives a simple life, is reserved and quiet. He is very young, younger than his age. Perhaps because he lives a gentle life, without competition or career rivalry.
