Drug trafficking suspect offered 2 billion to bribe police but failed

On the afternoon of January 6, a representative of Son La Provincial Police said that the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04) of the provincial police had just coordinated with relevant parties to successfully crack down on a drug case, arresting Song A Thong (31 years old, residing in Muong Hung commune, Song Ma district, Son La) for illegal drug trafficking.

According to a representative of Son La Provincial Police, Thong was arrested in Trung Chinh village (Muong Hung commune). At that time, the police discovered Thong was dealing drugs with a subject, so they rushed in and arrested him.

When discovered by the police, the drug dealer with Thong immediately escaped into the deep forest in the border area with Laos, and Thong was arrested on the spot.

PC04 Son La Provincial Police and related units seized 6 heroin cakes weighing 1.9 kg and nearly 12,000 synthetic drug pills weighing 1.1 kg in total and many related exhibits.

A representative of Son La Provincial Police said that Thong took advantage of having 3 small children, the oldest was only 4 years old and the youngest was 1 year old, pretending to take them shopping, but in reality they were buying and selling drugs.

When arrested, Thong offered 2 billion VND to bribe the authorities in order to escape punishment, but failed.
