The first meeting of the Executive Committee of the 16th Son La Provincial Party Committee elected the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee consisting of 14 members. Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the 15th Provincial Party Committee, continued to be elected to hold the position of Secretary of the 16th Provincial Party Committee.

The 16th Congress of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, took place this morning, September 28, electing the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee of 54 members.

The first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term XVI, 2025 - 2030, held in the afternoon of the same day, elected the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee consisting of 14 members; elected the Provincial Party Secretary and Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh was re-elected as Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee for the 16th term.

As a result, with an absolute number of votes in favor, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the 15th Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the 16th Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

With the same absolute approval rate, Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XV; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, term XV; Mr. Cha A Cua, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term XV, were elected to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XVI, term 2025 - 2030.

The conference also elected the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission consisting of 13 members. Ms. Luong Thi Van Anh, member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission, term XV, was elected to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission, term XVI.

After the first Conference, the Executive Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term XVI, 2025 - 2030, was introduced to the Congress.

Previously, at the congress, presenting the political report of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, term XV, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh said that in the past term, Son La province achieved many important achievements, the economy maintained stable growth with an average GRDP of 5.12%/year; GRDP per capita reached 61.8 million VND.

The province focuses on developing high-tech agriculture, becoming the center for processing agricultural products, milk, and fruits in the Northwest region; industry focuses on processing and manufacturing, gradually reducing mining. Up to now, Son La has planned 2 industrial parks and 21 industrial clusters, of which 1 industrial park and 2 industrial clusters are in operation.

Notably, the province's trade and services have developed strongly; 35 agricultural products have been put on e-commerce platforms, 17 products have been exported to 21 countries and territories. Tourism has made a breakthrough, with Moc Chau Tourist Area being recognized as a national tourist area, continuously winning awards as the leading natural destination in Asia and the world. In 2025, tourism is expected to welcome 5.3 million visitors, with revenue of 6,300 billion VND.

In addition, Son La also focuses on infrastructure investment, starting the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway, the National Highway 6 bypass through the old Son La city, socializing Na San Airport; 100% of the roads to the commune center are paved. Administrative reform has made a breakthrough, with the index always in the top 20 nationwide.

Social security is guaranteed. Up to now, the province has eliminated more than 12,300 temporary houses, the poverty rate has decreased to 7.89% by 2025. Political and social stability, national defense and security have been maintained; foreign relations have been expanded, especially with 9 northern Lao provinces. The work of Party building and rectification, streamlining the apparatus, and preventing corruption has achieved positive results.

According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, the achievements have created a foundation for Son La to develop rapidly and sustainably in the coming period.
