Son La needs to turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, stated that Son La needs to focus on socio-economic development, making tourism a spearhead economic sector, and preserving national culture as a foundation for sustainable development.

On September 28, the 16th Congress of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030 took place with the theme "Building a clean and strong Party and political system; promoting advantages, solidarity strength and cultural identity of ethnic groups; ensuring national defense and security; promoting innovation, developing science and technology, digital transformation, green and sustainable development."

The congress had 400 delegates representing more than 94,000 party members from 79 provincial party committees.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, emphasized that Son La province needs to continue to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, State policies and the Politburo's directions, especially on protecting people's health, developing education, science and technology, digital transformation and the private economy .

The province must reform administration, especially procedures associated with digital transformation, improve the capacity of Party organizations and build a clean and strong political system.

Son La focuses on socio-economic development, making tourism a key economic sector, preserving national cultural identity as a foundation for sustainable development. At the same time, it promotes health care, social security, poverty reduction, and creates opportunities for border areas and remote areas.

The province enhances its national defense and security potential, strengthens defense and expands foreign relations, especially with Laos, to build a peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing border./.
