Mr. Nguyen Van Ngai, former Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, shared: Over the years, the Party and State have always paid attention to and invested in education .
Resolution 71-NQ/TW, which has just been issued, is of great significance to the country's educational development, clearly demonstrating the spirit of education as the top national policy.
“I myself am very excited and confident in the correct policy of the Party and State to create a breakthrough for education. When the education sector joins hands to implement, education and training will certainly develop step by step. The goals set out in Resolution 71-NQ/TW through the stages will be achieved, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as Uncle Ho always wished,” the former Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngai said that Resolution 71-NQ/TW sets out 8 groups of tasks and solutions to make a breakthrough in the development of education and training.
Notably, in the group of tasks and solutions on strongly innovating institutions, creating unique and outstanding mechanisms and policies for education and training development, there is content clearly stating policies for teachers.
Specifically, there are special and outstanding preferential policies for the teaching staff; increase the preferential allowance for preschool and general education institutions to at least 70% for teachers, at least 30% for staff, and 100% for teachers in especially difficult areas, border areas, islands, and ethnic minority areas.
Develop appropriate policies to mobilize talented people outside the teaching staff to participate in teaching and training in educational institutions; implement a joint-teacher regime for talented people working in public service units; have incentive mechanisms to mobilize talented people to preside over scientific research activities in educational institutions.
With the specific tasks and solutions mentioned above, Resolution 71-NQ/TW demonstrates the great concern of the Party and State for education, teachers and school staff.
In particular, the allowance level is increased to at least 70% for teachers, at least 30% for staff, 100% for teachers in especially difficult areas, border areas, islands, and ethnic minority areas, which will be a great source of encouragement, creating motivation for teachers to continue to stick with and dedicate themselves to the profession, while attracting excellent pedagogical students to become teachers in the future.
"For education to continue to develop, it is necessary to synchronously solve many problems, in which the role of the teaching staff is very important. In recent times, the Party and the State have paid great attention to the teaching staff. However, through Resolution 71-NQ/TW, it has shown great determination and proposed specific targets and solutions. I hope that educational institutions will thoroughly grasp and implement to ensure the requirements set out in the resolution," Mr. Ngai expressed.

Ms. Phan Thi Hai Yen, a teacher at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School (An Phu Dong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that Resolution 71-NQ/TW has shown concern for policies for teachers, and is clear evidence of the Party and State's care for teachers in remote areas.
The improved preferential policies will help teachers feel secure in their work, stabilize their lives and continue to stick with their profession for a long time. When their lives are secure, teachers will certainly devote themselves to their students. Although there are many difficulties, as long as there is recognition, every teacher will not hesitate to continue to dedicate themselves to their profession.
Resolution 71-NQ/TW is a clear demonstration of the genuine concern for the teaching staff. Special preferential policies will be the driving force to create a turning point in the innovation journey, bringing Vietnamese education to develop quickly, sustainably and substantially.
"In fact, increasing the allowance for teachers is always an expectation and desire of every teacher and manager, so that teachers can make a living from their profession. Increasing the allowance will significantly improve the income of teachers, especially preschool and primary school teachers - whose salaries are still low compared to the general level.
When life is guaranteed, teachers will have more motivation to improve the quality of education. Increasing spending on education also creates opportunities for schools to invest and upgrade facilities and teaching equipment, better serving educational activities," Ms. Yen shared.
