According to the reporter's records, on September 18, Co Ba Saigon sweet soup and milk tea shop on Phung Hung Street (Pleiku City, Gia Lai ) closed.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, the shop owner, said that since receiving information about suspected milk tea poisoning among students, the facility proactively suspended operations and waited for official information from the authorities before reopening.

According to Mr. Vu, since opening the shop, this is the first time the shop has encountered this situation. Yesterday, September 17, an interdisciplinary team came to inspect and found that the establishment has all the conditions to operate a food and beverage business.

Previously, on September 16, the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Ward, Pleiku City, reported a suspected food poisoning case at a secondary school in the area.

Specifically, on the morning of September 16, Thong Nhat Ward Medical Station recorded a suspected poisoning case in class 7/1 of Ton Duc Thang Secondary School.

Accordingly, on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, the parents' association of class 7/1 organized a party for the students, each with a cup of milk tea. The milk tea was bought from the Co Ba Sai Gon milk tea and dessert shop on Phung Hung street.

At around 9:30 a.m. the same day, some students showed signs of stomachache, nausea, and dizziness. Upon inspection, 34 students had drunk milk tea. Of these, 21 students showed signs of stomachache and vomiting, 17 students were taken home by their parents for monitoring, and 4 students went to the ward health station for examination.

Among them, 1 child was taken to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Hoang Anh Gia Lai for monitoring and treatment.

Afterwards, the Food Safety Department of the Ministry of Health issued an official dispatch requesting the temporary suspension of operations of food supply facilities suspected of causing poisoning.

At the same time, organize investigations and trace the origin of food to determine the source of raw materials and food for processing facilities suspected of causing poisoning; take food samples and specimens for testing to find the cause.

The Department also requires detecting and strictly handling violations of food safety regulations, if any, and publicizing the results to warn the community.

On September 18, the leader of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Hoang Anh Gia Lai said that as soon as the patients were admitted, the hospital collected samples for testing, and the results will be available in the next few days.
