Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Song Ha, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Ninh province, said that on the morning of September 14, due to the high water level on the Ngu Huyen Khe irrigation project, at km8+200 on the right bank of the project, a bank break occurred with a width of 5-7m.

The incident caused flooding risk to 500 households in Ao Nhan residential area, Da Hoi quarter, Chau Khe ward (Tu Son city).

People and authorities were mobilized to fix the problem.

As soon as the incident occurred, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Bac Ninh province and the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Tu Son city mobilized about 1,000 local people, militia from wards: Trang Ha, Chau Khe, Phu Khe, Huong Mac, Dong Ky and nearly 100 officers and soldiers of the Military Command, Tu Son City Police and used 4 excavators and 5 cars to focus on overcoming the incident.

According to the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Ninh province, the technical measure to handle the incident is to drive concrete piles, bamboo piles, drop concrete boxes, soil bags, stone baskets... into the broken bank location.

By 11:00 a.m. the same day, the incident had been basically resolved and controlled.
