Amazed by Hac Hai - where clouds, sky and water meet

In Le Ky village, Quang Ninh commune, there is a mountain with 3 peaks, shaped like a spear, 783 meters high, commonly called Dau Mau mountain. Folklore considers this a sacred mountain: "Dau Mau has many fairies, Dinh Than has many Buddhas". To the East, not far from the foot of Dau Mau mountain is Hac Hai lagoon (shallow sea), spreading about 12 km2, located between the two districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy (old Quang Binh ). Every day, in the late afternoon, the shadow of Dau Mau mountain is printed on the surface of Hac Hai lagoon like a pen dipped in ink.

Dau Mau - Hac Hai has created a beautiful landscape of old Quang Binh and is also the birthplace of many talented people such as: Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh, Doctor Duong Van An, General Vo Nguyen Giap.

In late autumn, Hac Hai is in the flood season, the season of flourishing products here. On the lagoon, the silhouettes of fishing boats appear behind the reeds swaying in the wind.

Hac Hai ecosystem is not only rich in shrimp and fish, a "stopover" for migratory birds, but also the granary of the two old districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy, each season has its own food and there is no shortage of anything. The proverb "First Dong Nai , second two districts" originates from here.

From afar, in the middle of the vast water, a green oasis of rice and lotus plants emerged. This property of more than 30 hectares was built by Mr. Vo Cong Xuan and his wife Do Thi Hoa (Hoa Thuy commune, old Le Thuy district and now Le Ninh commune, Quang Tri province) for the past 25 years. With no money, no technical means, only the strength of the couple, plus perseverance, they succeeded.

From being specialized in hunting wild birds and fish, even being the ringleaders in collecting wild birds in the region to sell to the northern provinces, now the couple Xuan - Hoa have turned 180 degrees, protecting, planting trees, and making nests for wild birds to live and reproduce, as a way they are "paying their debt" to the wild birds.

After a tiring day of work, Mr. and Mrs. Xuan - Hoa leisurely rowed the boat together, watching the lotus pond in full bloom.

A meal for guests prepared by Mr. and Mrs. Xuan - Hoa with their own hands from products grown on their own farm. In the vast space of water, the smell of straw, mud, fish, shrimp... and the scent of new sticky rice lingers, holding people's feet.

Good news spread far and wide, many nature lovers and those who like the open space came back to experience and relive old memories.

After a day of exploring Hac Hai, enjoying a typical Hac Hai meal, the sun set behind the mountain. In the distance, the fishermen calling to each other on Hac Hai lagoon. The dim lights blended into the wild grass. The entire lagoon gradually sank into the quiet darkness.
