Ngoc Lac invests in building grassroots cultural institutions

The cultural house of Thuan Ba village, Van Am commune was invested in and built spaciously.

Thuan Ba village, Van Am commune has 97 households, more than 400 people, mainly Muong ethnic people, people's lives are still difficult. In previous years, because the village cultural house (NCH) was small and degraded, it affected the community life of the people in the village. In 2022, with the attention of the State, together with the people's contributions, the NCVH of Thuan Ba village was invested in and built spaciously, meeting the people's wishes.

Mr. Le Van Tuan - one of the households that contributed to the construction of the cultural house in Thuan Ba village, said: Realizing my responsibility in the new rural construction movement in general and the construction of cultural and sports institutions in particular, I voluntarily contributed my time and money to build the village cultural house. Seeing the village cultural house built spaciously, I am very happy because I have contributed part of my efforts to the development of the village. When the cultural house is completed, the villagers will have a place to meet and exchange culture and sports. These activities not only contribute to building a cultural life but also help us bond more closely together, helping each other develop the economy .

According to the report of the People's Committee of Van Am commune, from 2022 to May 2025, Van Am commune invested in building new, upgrading and repairing 4 cultural houses with a total investment of about 3.6 billion VND, of which the people contributed more than 1.5 billion VND. Currently, 11 villages of the commune have cultural houses, which are effectively used by the people.

Identifying the construction of grassroots cultural institutions as an important condition to improve the spiritual life of the people, every year the District People's Committee assigns functional departments to organize inspections, reviews and accurately assess the current status of grassroots cultural institutions. At the same time, direct the People's Committees of communes and towns to develop plans, arrange funding sources, and mobilize people to contribute labor and money to invest in building, renovating and upgrading local cultural and sports institutions. Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, from 2011 to 2024, Ngoc Lac district has mobilized more than 157 billion VND to build, repair and renovate 20 multi-purpose cultural halls, 20 communal stadiums, 181 cultural houses - village sports areas. The district also focuses on upgrading cultural institutions, equipment inside cultural houses, and tools for outdoor physical education and sports activities; Regularly plant additional flowers and trees to "Green the cultural house", ensuring the cultural house grounds are green, clean and beautiful.

Currently, 213 villages and neighborhoods in Ngoc Lac district have village cultural houses, ensuring community activities. The planned area of village cultural houses and neighborhoods is from 500m2 or more, built in central locations to facilitate people's participation in activities. 100% of villages and neighborhoods have established cultural house management boards, with a team of collaborators and non-professional workers. 21/21 communes and towns have entertainment and sports venues. All commune cultural and sports centers have cultural houses, halls with 200 seats or more and sports areas, ensuring conditions for serving meetings, cultural activities, arts, physical education and sports. Investment in building cultural houses and cultural institutions has created favorable conditions for 155 art troupes, folk art and culture clubs, and 35 sports clubs to have places for activities and training; Organize cultural and artistic competitions and performances. Thereby, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, improving people's spiritual life, promoting the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of the district to develop more and more.

Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Ngoc Lac district, Pham Dinh Cuong, said: The district always pays attention to directing the implementation of investment in building grassroots cultural institutions. With the motto "State and People work together", in the process of implementing the construction of cultural institutions, villages and neighborhoods have established community supervision boards and made revenue and expenditure public and transparent. Therefore, people have actively responded to contribute to building grassroots cultural institutions. Currently, cultural institutions have been effective, serving well the political tasks of the locality, improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people. In the coming time, the district will continue to propagate to raise people's awareness in participating in protecting cultural institutions. Mobilize all resources to renovate and repair village and neighborhood cultural houses; expand the campus; purchase additional physical training and sports equipment to meet the living needs of the people.
