Mr. Bui Dinh Thang (56 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that because he was afraid of the crowded train station, he had to wake up very early, at 3 am to go to the train station to wait for a queue number to buy a train ticket. "I was very happy to buy a SE6 train ticket to Vinh ( Nghe An ) on February 6, 2024 (ie December 27) with a sleeper ticket price of 2,838,000 VND and an extra seat ticket of 1,466,000 VND", Mr. Thang shared.

Mr. Le Dinh Hung (51 years old, living in Ben Cat district, Binh Duong province) said that because he is not familiar with technology, he had to go to the station to buy tickets directly. Mr. Hung went to Saigon station at 4:30 am to get a queue number to buy train tickets for his family of 4 to go to Vinh for Tet. He waited until after 9 am to buy tickets, the procedure was very quick and simple.

Holding a stack of train tickets she had just bought, Ms. Doan Thi Hanh (living in Tan Binh district) boasted: "I went to the station at 5am to get a queue number to wait to buy tickets to Dong Hoi station ( Quang Binh ). This year, buying train tickets was quite convenient, the staff guided and resolved the problem quickly."

Speaking to Giao Thong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Director of Saigon Railway Transport Branch said: From 6am on October 20, Saigon station was ready to serve the first guests to get their queue numbers.

At 8am, Saigon Railway Branch opened ticket sales for the 2024 Tet holiday at 8 official gates and 1 backup gate to serve people coming to the station to buy Tet train tickets. The service is enthusiastic, thoughtful, and security and order are absolutely guaranteed.

"This year in particular, the number of customers coming to buy tickets directly at the station is not as crowded as in previous years because buying tickets online is very stable, without any congestion. As of 9am, there were nearly 300 customers present at the station to buy tickets," said Mr. Tuan.

To make the train ticket purchasing process convenient and quick, Saigon station has prepared forms for customers to fill out before coming to the ticket counter, and a team of customer guides, volunteers and security guards are fully deployed to support people.

It is expected that the railway industry will provide about 390 trips with more than 200,000 seats from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi 10 days before Tet and from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City 15 days after Tet.

The ticket price during the Tet holiday of Giap Thin, the Saigon - Hanoi route is highest at about 2,950,000 VND and the lowest is 1,950,000 VND/ticket. The train schedule for Tet is from January 26 to February 26, 2024 (ie from December 16 to January 17).

During this time, the railway industry will operate 10 pairs of Thong Nhat trains (Saigon - Hanoi station and vice versa) including: SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, SE9/SE10, SE11/SE12, SE23/SE24, SE27/SE28, TN3/TN4, TN5/TN6.
