During the procession of vehicles carrying the martyrs' remains from Cau Treo International Border Gate to Nam National Martyrs' Cemetery, thousands of people, union members, and students in Ha Tinh brought flags and flowers to welcome the martyrs back to their motherland.

On the afternoon of May 22, after completing the ceremony to receive and offer incense to the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos at Cau Treo International Border Gate, the convoy moved to Nam National Martyrs Cemetery in Son Chau Commune, Huong Son District.

As the convoy carrying the remains of martyrs moved on Highway 8, along both sides of the road, there were thousands of people, union members, and students carrying flags and flowers, welcoming the heroic martyrs back to their beloved motherland after many years of lying in Laos.

Despite the hot weather, the people, union members and students in Huong Son district were present early, standing neatly on both sides of Highway 8 to welcome the convoy carrying the remains of martyrs. This is a meaningful act of Ha Tinh people to remember and show gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the noble international mission.

At about 4:30 p.m. on May 22, the remains of the martyrs were moved to the Nam National Martyrs' Cemetery. On the evening of May 22, the People's Committee of Huong Son district presided over and coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union, the Executive Committee of the Huong Son Buddhist Sangha, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Provincial Military Command to hold a requiem for 10 martyrs at the Nam National Martyrs' Cemetery.

On the morning of May 23, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh province will solemnly hold a memorial service and burial of the remains of 10 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos at the Nam National Martyrs' Cemetery.

With close coordination between the Steering Committee 515 of Ha Tinh province and the Special Working Groups of Lao provinces, from 1999 to the dry season of 2022 - 2023, the Collection Team under the Provincial Military Command, with the enthusiastic support and assistance of the Party Committee, authorities at all levels and people of Laos, searched for and recovered 810 martyrs' remains.

In the 2022-2023 dry season, the Collection Team searched for and processed 35 pieces of information with 90 graves related to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.

Through that, the team has collected the remains of 10 martyrs in Bolikhamxay province and the capital Vientiane. The names of the martyrs have not been identified.
