The person who 'sows' seeds of love in the heart of the city

The conference to commend the typical advanced models of Quyet Thang ward (Thai Nguyen province) was recently held in a solemn and warm atmosphere. This year, the whole ward has 5 collectives, 8 individuals and 2 families being commended, including the family of Mr. Hoang Van Thai, group 4. This is a worthy recognition for the persistent contributions, responsibility and community spirit of ordinary people.

For the community from simple things

Mr. Hoang Van Thai has a small stature and a nimble appearance. To the people, he is a typical farmer, a model citizen and a "keeper of the fire" of love, contributing to building a united and civilized community.

The biggest highlight of that journey began in 2022, when residential group No. 4 expanded the road connecting from Quang Trung main road to alley 650 - the road serving dozens of households in the group and neighboring families. Funding became a difficult problem when many households were still facing economic difficulties. In that context, Mr. Thai and the Party Committee, residential group and organizations went to each house to mobilize people to donate land, contribute labor and contribute financially.

With his straightforward, emotional, prestigious and exemplary way of speaking, he convinced the people to agree. After a short time, the concrete road 700m long, 6m wide, 20cm thick was completed; lighting and running water were synchronized. The total value of the project was more than 800 million VND, of which his family alone contributed 500 million VND.

In the early days of autumn, the wide concrete road resounded with cheerful laughter. Groups of students happily cycled to school, women comfortably led carts carrying agricultural products to the market. Looking at the straight, clean and bright road, many people could not hide their joy.

Ms. Pham Thi Thom, Head of Group 4, said: Without Mr. Thai's example and dedication, it would be difficult for the people to agree so quickly. Whatever Mr. Thai does comes from a pure heart and sincere feelings, so everyone trusts and respects him. For the people here, Mr. Thai is a close neighbor, as well as a spiritual support and a shining example of responsibility and dedication to the community.

Not only enthusiastic about public work, Mr. Thai's family is also a model in economic development. Currently, Mr. Thai's family cultivates nearly 2 hectares of high-quality rice, creating jobs for dozens of workers, with an average income of 10 million VND/person/month. In the garden, Mr. Thai and his family also grow many precious medicinal herbs to both treat people's illnesses and preserve the precious heritage of their ancestors.

"Bright spot" in building a new life

Sharing about what he has done, Mr. Thai said: “What you have, giving it to the community is truly meaningful. If you only care about yourself, your life will be closed. When everyone contributes, the residential area will be spacious and civilized.” That simple explanation, along with his perseverance, has become a good habit in many families. From those small actions, the village spirit is nurtured and the movement “All people unite to build a new life in the residential area” is increasingly developing.

Not only pioneering and actively supporting road construction, Mr. Thai's family is also at the forefront of humanitarian and charitable movements. Mr. Thai himself is always present in fundraising campaigns for the poor, education and talent encouragement funds. Seeing many students in difficulty, Mr. Thai also spent his own money to buy 15 bicycles, worth 24 million VND to give away. Those simple bicycles have become companions on their learning journey, giving them more motivation to nurture their dreams.

In a conversation with us, Mr. Trinh Duy Nghi, a resident of Group 4, shared: “In this area, whenever there is a need for someone to advocate, people immediately think of Mr. Thai. With his exemplary character, gentle and sincere way of speaking, everyone listens.” Perhaps it is because of his dedication and proper behavior that Mr. Thai always maintains the trust of the community.

The movement of maintaining environmental hygiene, planting flowers along the alleys, and clearing the gutters in group 4 is maintained regularly, becoming a beautiful feature of the community. Mr. Thai himself is always exemplary in every small thing: taking the lead in cleaning, participating in sports , and maintaining security and order. At the same time, he focuses on maintaining the family tradition, cultivating the tradition of studiousness, and building a sustainable solidarity bloc.

With his persistent contributions, Mr. Hoang Van Thai was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and received many Certificates of Merit from the Ward People's Committee. But the greatest reward, according to him, is the trust and respect of the people where he lives. Mr. Nguyen Duc Nhat, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quyet Thang Ward, commented: Examples like Mr. Hoang Van Thai are very precious. Through specific actions, Mr. Thai and his family have created great changes for the community, becoming a spiritual support for the people.

In the midst of urban life, Mr. Hoang Van Thai is like a sower of love, so that those “seeds” can blossom into solidarity and kindness in the community. For the people of Group 4, Mr. Thai is proof that from simple actions but coming from the heart, each citizen can contribute to creating big changes. Such shining examples need to be spread, multiplying the belief and aspiration for a better community.
