Before the news that the 'Shark Jaws' building would be demolished before April 30, 2025, on the weekends, many people and tourists visited and took souvenir photos to preserve the image of this familiar building.

Doan Trang (middle, from Hanoi) shared that although she had sat in a cafe in the building many times, she had never taken a photo there. "Today, taking advantage of the weekend, I invited my friends to come take photos to preserve memories before the building is demolished."

“I feel quite sorry that this building was demolished, but if this helps to expand the space around Hoan Kiem Lake and make the landscape more beautiful, I fully support it,” said Thuy Linh.

The "Shark Jaws" building is a commercial center at 7 Dinh Tien Hoang (Hanoi). The project was built on the old tramway station with a view of Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and a full view of Hoan Kiem Lake. The project started in 1990 and was completed in 1993.

For a long time, 'Shark Jaws' has been a familiar place for international tourists whenever they visit Hanoi.

Standing opposite the 'Shark Jaws' building, Ms. Thu Ha (Hoan Kiem district) and her Australian husband took the opportunity to take a souvenir photo. "Since I was little, I have been familiar with the image of this building, it is associated with my childhood memories. Today, I had the opportunity to pass by, my husband and I stopped by a coffee shop to take a look again before the building is demolished."

"I came here today to take some pictures, as a part of my memories before this construction is demolished," said Hai Anh (Cau Giay, Hanoi).

As the afternoon progressed, the area of ​​the 'Shark Jaws' building near Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square attracted more and more people.

After demolition, the city plans to research and build 3 basements in the "Shark Jaw" area, with the function of a cultural and commercial space on basement 1; parking area on basements 2 and 3.
