Current status of the area east of Hoan Kiem Lake, about to build a square, park, and underground station

Hanoi plans to start construction of a 2.14-hectare square and park east of Hoan Kiem Lake before October 10, 2025. In phase 1 of the project, compensation and site clearance will be carried out for 17 organizations and 42 households.

The area east of Hoan Kiem Lake is planned to build a square and park of 2.14 hectares.

According to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward, the project will be implemented in two phases. In phase 1, Hanoi City will carry out compensation, support and resettlement on an area of ​​21,151 m2, involving 59 land users including 17 organizations (7 electricity units and 10 other units) and 42 households. For households that meet the conditions, they will be compensated and resettled with land in Dong Anh commune, Viet Hung urban area and Thuong Thanh resettlement houses.

Some of the agencies that must be relocated include the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Institute of Literature (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences ), the Hanoi Population Department, the Hanoi Blind Association, the Northern Power Corporation, the Hanoi Power Corporation, the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Electricity Hotel, the City Citizen Reception Office, the Hoan Kiem Power Company...

Regarding progress, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward said it will carry out compensation procedures and resettlement support for the first phase of the investment project and start construction before October 10, 2025.
