Vietnamese people are willing to pay thousands of billions of dong to buy iPhone 17

On the morning of September 19, the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air product lines were officially launched in the Vietnamese market. According to dealers, the number of users interested in this new product line has increased compared to the same period last year.

Record number of orders

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, representative of TopZone system said that in this year's iPhone season, this unit achieved an unprecedented record with nearly 100,000 customers depositing within the first 24 hours. The above number far exceeds the record of iPhone 16 opening sale last year.

"Consumers in Vietnam welcome the new generation of iPhone with excitement beyond expectations, even more exciting than every year. In the next 3 days, we expect to deliver about 50,000 orders to buyers," said Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of TopZone.

Other units such as Viettel Store said they received more than 70,000 deposits, CellphoneS had more than 20,000 pre-orders, Minh Tuan Mobile received 18,000 orders, and Di Dong Viet received nearly 27,000 registrations during the deposit opening period.

Meanwhile, the group of agents includingFPT Shop, Shopdunk, and Hoang Ha Mobile did not announce the number of orders.

However, incomplete statistics from retail systems have shown that there are more than 200,000 orders for iPhone 17. The selling price of iPhone 17 versions ranges from 25-64 million VND. It can be seen that the amount of money that Vietnamese consumers are willing to pay to buy iPhone 17 is up to thousands of billions of VND.

This is the first year the Vietnamese market has been upgraded and iPhones have been available for sale early. Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, CellphoneS media representative, said this marks an important milestone as Vietnamese customers no longer have to wait 2-3 weeks to buy genuine iPhones like before.

"Opening for sale at the same time as the world not only shows the attractiveness and growth of the Vietnamese market, but also gives customers the opportunity to own the latest generation of genuine iPhone products early, along with other major markets, at the standard global price," Mr. Huy added.

Meanwhile, a representative of Shopdunk said that Apple's inclusion of Vietnam in the Tier 1 group is both an opportunity and a challenge for retailers.

"All systems must be urgently prepared to be ready to synchronize with major markets such as the US or Singapore. But thanks to that, Vietnamese users received the device early on the global launch date, and the interest from the community was also very high," said a representative of Shopdunk.

iPhone 17 Pro Max "sold out"

Mr. Phan Tran Thanh, Deputy Director of Apple Products at FPT Shop system, commented that iPhone 17 and iPhone Air have created a fever in the technology-loving community. Compared to last year, the number of customers interested and depositing has grown impressively, especially in the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air versions.

The same thing was also recorded in many other systems. Accordingly, iPhone 17 Pro Max continues to be the version that most Vietnamese users are interested in. This reflects the typical shopping trend in the Vietnamese market.

Minh Tuan Mobile representative received 18,000 pre-orders for iPhone 17 and iPhone Air after one week of opening orders, 12% higher than last year. Of which, iPhone 17 Pro Max is still the center of attention, accounting for a large proportion of orders.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is currently out of stock. Buyers will have to wait a few weeks to receive their device, especially the cosmic orange version.

"Statistics show that about 65% of customers choose iPhone 17 Pro Max among the entire new product range. Of which, the 256GB version is the most chosen. In terms of color, 60% of customers choose cosmic orange," said a representative of Mobile World.

Each system will implement different incentive programs to attract customers. In particular, the number of customers participating in trade-in and installment purchases also tends to increase compared to last year. According to Hoang Ha Mobile, the rate of customers paying for iPhone 17 installments at this unit is more than 35%.

This year, the selling price of iPhone 17 has increased by 3-4 million VND compared to previous generations. iPhone 17 has a starting price of 25 million VND for the 256GB version. iPhone Air is priced from 32 million VND, while the 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max reaches 64 million VND - a record price for an iPhone.
