Hai Dang entered the BWF Super 100 semi-finals for the first time

This is a historic victory, helping him to reach the semi-finals of an international tournament in the World Tour Super 100 system for the first time, similar to the Vietnam Open that just took place in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the Vietnam Open, the Vietnamese tennis player expressed his goal of entering the world's top 50, to get a seeded position at the SEA Games at the end of the year.

With a ticket to the semi-finals, Hai Dang has the best result of 2025 and will face Joakim Oldorff (Finland, ranked 54th). Being in the semi-finals will help Dang receive at least 3,850 more points, thereby getting closer to the goal of entering the world's top 50 towards the SEA Games at the end of the year.

Before this quarter-final match, the 25-year-old tennis player had excellently defeated the 8th seed Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo (Indonesia, ranked 57) in round 2, and tennis players such as Harry Huang (England, ranked 74), Bismo Raya Oktora (Indonesia, ranked 141).

Currently, Nguyen Hai Dang is the highest ranked male singles badminton player in Vietnam. Following him are Le Duc Phat (ranked 100) and veteran Nguyen Tien Minh (ranked 379).
