On the morning of July 4, the Beethoven lobby and auditorium at HIU became bustling when a series of prestigious medical units were present to look for human resources. Final year students of Pharmacy, Nursing, Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation, Dentistry... brought their resumes, ready for interviews, and discussed directly with employers.

A representative of Military Hospital 175 said that the unit needs to recruit 35 bachelors and 5 masters of nursing in 2025, and is expected to increase to 50 and 10 in 2026. Children's Hospital 2 affirmed that the demand for nursing recruitment is increasing sharply, with a paid apprenticeship policy to support students in the process of completing their practice certificates as well as participating in short-term training courses and graduate courses abroad to improve their professional capacity. The estimated starting salary is 12-14 million VND/month, excluding occupational and hazardous allowances.

Pharmacity system also provides attractive recruitment information: more than 100 pharmacist positions in Ho Chi Minh City and 200 positions in other provinces and cities, with a clear career path from intern to management positions with salaries from 10 - 15 million VND/month.

Along with recruitment activities, HIU students also participated in the career orientation seminar "Overview of job opportunities and postgraduate study" shared by representatives of recruitment units in collaboration with representatives of hospitals and the HIU Institute of Postgraduate Training - Continuing Education.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Dung - Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Training - Continuing Education said: HIU is training 25 postgraduate majors, including 16 majors in the Health sector such as Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy, Nursing, Rehabilitation Techniques... At the same time, the school also organizes many continuing education courses according to the standards of the Ministry of Health , suitable for the needs of learning and improving skills.

Students are given specific advice on professional certificates, scholarships, international joint programs and direct answers about career development paths, salaries, and working conditions in the medical environment. “There are many recruitment posts online but they lack transparency. Meeting directly with the employer like today helps me understand the actual needs and confidently plan my career,” said Hong Hanh, a former student of Nursing.

Training the ability to overcome difficulties - a vital factor in the medical industry

At the discussion session, Dr. Nurse Cam Ngoc Thuy - Head of Nursing Department, Military Hospital 175 emphasized: Medical students not only need IQ and EQ but also AQ - adversity quotient, to adapt to a high-pressure environment.

“Students need to be adaptable, proactive in learning, and ready to change to keep up with the pace of modern medicine. This is the key factor that helps them stand firm in a high-pressure environment,” Ms. Thuy shared.

Sharing the same view, many hospital representatives affirmed: professional knowledge is a necessary condition, but soft skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking and responsibility are sufficient conditions for success.

In response to the question "Can AI replace human resources in the medical industry?", experts affirm that artificial intelligence only plays a supporting role and cannot replace the hands, brains and hearts of doctors. Analytical processes can be assigned to machines, but the final decision must still come from experts.

Three-party cooperation model to raise training standards

According to MSc. Tran Thuy Tram Quyen - Vice Principal of HIU, the Job Fair is part of the training strategy linked to practice that the school persistently pursues. "We do not wait for students to graduate to find jobs. Right from the second year, students have the opportunity to do internships, meet employers, adjust their learning attitude and practice skills to be ready for their career journey," Ms. Quyen said.

HIU currently has more than 500 partners, of which more than 50 are large hospitals and medical facilities at home and abroad. These units not only accept interns but also contribute to the development of training programs, ensuring that output standards are close to actual needs.
