At the fair, the Embassy of India introduced related publications such as: India tourist map, booklet introducing UNESCO heritage sites in India, Buddhist pilgrimage sites... In addition, at the booth there were also many cultural exchange activities such as: quizzes about India, souvenir photography, henna drawing...
Attending the event, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya emphasized that this is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to better understand Indian culture, have the opportunity to find attractive tours, and further connect people of the two countries.
Emphasizing the impressive growth in tourism between Vietnam and India in recent times, Ambassador Sandeep Arya said: “I find the growth in tourism cooperation between India and Vietnam very impressive. Last year, India was the 8th country in terms of the number of tourists to Vietnam with about 400,000 people. We also estimate that about 45,000 Vietnamese tourists visited India last year. Continuing this momentum, we will strive to increase the number of tourists exchanged between the two countries, strengthening people-to-people exchanges.”
According to Ambassador Sandeep Arya, India has many attractive tourism products for international tourists, including Vietnam. For spiritual tourism, India has designed many related tours in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh states. Tourists will be able to join tours to visit Buddhist relics scattered across the country with sites dating back 1,500-2,000 years.
In addition, India is one of the countries with the most UNESCO cultural heritages in the world , with 42 heritages that will be destinations for tourists to learn about the history, civilization and heritage of this country. Ambassador Sandeep Arya said that another strength of India is the natural landscape with snow-capped peaks all year round in the Himalayas, to the desert and the wild world. In addition, Indian tourism is also attracted by yoga, traditional Ayurveda medicine... The booth introducing and promoting Indian tourism will be open at the VITM Hanoi Fair from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm every day, from April 11 to 14, 2024.
