According to TechSpot , after the attack on AMD last week, the IntelBroker hacker group continued to shock when they announced that they had successfully penetrated Apple's system. Accordingly, they stole the source code of important internal tools, including AppleConnect-SSO, Apple-HWE-Confluence-Advanced and AppleMacroPlugin, along with personal information of employees and many other sensitive data.
Among the stolen tools, AppleConnect-SSO plays a particularly important role. This is the authentication system that allows Apple employees to access most of the company's internal applications. The leak of the tool's source code could have serious security consequences for Apple.
IntelBroker claims to have hacked Apple systems
Apple has yet to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, AMD confirmed the attack and is working with authorities to investigate.
IntelBroker is a relatively new group of hackers that has quickly made a name for itself with a series of shocking cyber attacks. Previously, the group claimed to have attacked Los Angeles International Airport, technology consulting firm Acuity, Africa's largest retailer Shoprite and even Europol.
The attack on Apple and AMD is yet another reminder of the growing threat landscape in cybersecurity. Even large organizations, no matter how well protected, can be vulnerable to sophisticated attacks.
