Joy on charity trips
In the autumn colors of September, convoys of vehicles depart from the gathering points of Hai Phong , following each other towards Hanoi. The atmosphere on the vehicles is bustling and exciting, like a festival. For many people, the free bus is not only a means of transportation, but also a bridge connecting the community, arousing national pride.
At the outdoor exhibition area, the group of veterans from Ngo Quyen ward, dressed in neat uniforms, attentively looked at each photo and each model of the country's development journey. Their eyes shone with emotion and pride.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ruan, a veteran of Ngo Quyen ward, shared: “The city's convoy took us to visit Hai Phong's display booth at the 80-year national achievements exhibition. The atmosphere on the bus was very happy, everyone was excited. This was an extremely meaningful trip, encouraging us to live happily and healthily. On behalf of the delegation, I would like to thank the city leaders for their attention and creating conditions for us to have this memorable visit.”
Also in the group, Mr. Le Danh Hung said: “I learned about the information through the press and the city’s official media channels, so I registered. We were very excited to be able to join the free bus. This is a timely and close concern for the people.”

From the west of Hai Phong, driver Vu Xuan Trung, owner of a private business, drove the people safely to Hanoi. He said: “I took the people from the Eastern Cultural Center to the National Exhibition Center, ensuring absolute safety. Seeing everyone excited, I was also happy and proud to have contributed a small part to this meaningful activity.”
When the bus stopped, the locals shared their experiences. Mr. Nguyen Kim Van (Gia Loc commune) said: “My friend and I registered via Zalo, then gathered at the Dong Xu Cultural Center to get on the bus. On the morning of September 10, we were at the exhibition. Everything was organized thoughtfully and smoothly.”

Mr. Hoang Thanh Binh (Tu Minh ward) could not hide his emotions: “We gathered at 9 o'clock, and a car picked us up enthusiastically. There were also drinks on the car and an enthusiastic tour guide. We clearly felt the city's concern for the people. I hope there will be more activities like this on other important occasions.”
Timely decisions, thoughtful organization
Behind the trips filled with love are timely decisions and close direction from the city leaders. On September 6, implementing the "hot" direction of the Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, the City Youth Union, the City Police and related units to mobilize businesses to arrange free vehicles to take people to visit the Exhibition "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey" in Dong Anh (Hanoi). The tasks were urgently deployed on September 7.

On the afternoon of September 7, when directly inspecting Hai Phong's exhibition areas at the Exhibition, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan called on transportation and travel businesses to join the city. Responding to the call of the City People's Committee, many businesses were ready to arrange vehicles, personnel and a team of tour guides knowledgeable about culture and history to accompany people on the journey of more than 100km.
Thanks to the smooth coordination, by 11pm on September 7, the entire plan was completed. Before that, the grassroots media system and local newspapers quickly spread the information, helping people register in time. On the morning of September 8, the first free buses rolled out, carrying hundreds of people and tourists from the Port City towards the capital Hanoi.
In just the first three days (September 8-10), the city arranged 107 free buses departing from the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Labor Cultural Palace and the Eastern Cultural Center, serving more than 4,500 Hai Phong residents to visit the National Achievements Exhibition. On September 10 alone, due to the surge in registrations, the city mobilized 52 cars (including 44 47-seat cars and 8 29-seat cars), carrying more than 2,220 people from Hai Phong city to the National Exhibition Center for sightseeing.

In organizing, the city pays special attention to policy families, the elderly, and students. The police force closely coordinates to ensure security and order at the gathering points. On the buses, there are drinking water and cold towels to serve the people; Hai Phong city departments and branches also mobilize nearly 90 people to guide and support the people. In particular, Hai Phong City Youth Union alone mobilizes an average of 40 volunteers per day to accompany the people throughout the journey to visit the exhibition. The thoughtful care makes the people clearly feel the companionship and attention from the city government and the business community.
As planned, the free shuttle program will last until the closing of the Exhibition (September 15).
