Doctors and nurses of Ha Tinh Mental Health Hospital always accompany and share with patients.

With nearly 19 years of experience working in the medical industry, nurse Tran Thi Hong Ngan - Head of Nursing Department, Ha Tinh Mental Health Hospital has also shared and accompanied people with mental health disorders.

Sharing about her work, nurse Tran Thi Hong Ngan said: Each patient has different circumstances and fates, but most of them are very unfortunate and pitiful. There are families where all three members are sick. During the treatment process, especially in the early stages, the patient's spirit and awareness are not stable, sometimes they resist, scream, and some patients defecate indiscriminately. In such situations, we look at them with sympathy, sharing and companionship above all. We must know how to put ourselves in their situation to be patient, tolerant, and comforting."

To help patients stabilize their minds, nurses must learn to communicate with eye contact, gestures, and even understanding silence.

According to doctors, there are patients who, when admitted to the hospital, do not know who they are, cannot control their behavior, and sometimes even lose control and resist. But to the nursing team at Ha Tinh Mental Health Hospital, they are still patients who need to be loved and cared for. To help patients stabilize their minds, nurses must learn to communicate with eye contact, gestures, and even with understanding silence. Many people compare this job to "taking care of children in adult bodies". Not only do nurses have to endure psychological pressure, they also often face danger. Some are suddenly attacked by patients, and some are injured while trying to stop a temper tantrum. But overcoming their fear, they still return to work every day.

Nurse Bui Duc Nguyen, A person who has worked at the hospital for more than 10 years shared: “It is very normal for patients to have seizures and curse. And we all understand that this is not what they want. After they regain consciousness, they become very gentle and proactively apologize to the doctors and nurses. Seeing them struggle to fight the disease motivates us to accompany, share, and confide more, helping them overcome the disease soon. Every time a patient is discharged from the hospital and returns to normal life, it is the greatest happiness for us and all the hardships disappear.”

The nursing team of Ha Tinh Mental Health Hospital always accompanies and provides maximum support to patients.

It is known that Ha Tinh Mental Hospital currently has nearly 60 staff members, of which nursing staff accounts for nearly 2/3. Every day, they care for hundreds of inpatients, most of whom are in particularly difficult circumstances, have chronic illnesses or have relapsed many times.

Their work starts early in the morning by helping patients with personal hygiene, cleaning the sickroom, giving medicine, then guiding rehabilitation exercises, chatting, and reassuring their spirit. At night, when patients sleep, they still have to be on duty to prevent anyone from getting agitated or having trouble sleeping. Behind the gentle smile of each nurse are sleepless nights, the resilience to overcome mental pressure to keep patients safe and peaceful. Thanks to that dedication and responsibility, many patients have recovered well, returned to life, and integrated into the community.

Nursing staff are the ones who rekindle the patient's faith.

Master, Doctor Nguyen Hong Phuc - Director of Ha Tinh Mental Health Hospital shared: “Patients treated in hospitals are completely different from patients in other medical facilities. They have special injuries, so it is especially important to grasp information about their condition and disease progression. And the nursing team is the one who has the most frequent contact with patients and plays an important role in improving treatment effectiveness.

Each patient has a special situation, of which more than 50% do not have relatives to take care of them every day, so the nursing staff here not only carry out medical orders and give injections, but also take on the role of a relative, caring, listening, reassuring and accompanying the patient every moment. They are the ones who rekindle the patient's faith."
