In everyday life, when the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the street, firefighters immediately rush into danger. Behind those life-and-death moments, few people know that there are people who silently plan, build plans, and prepare every scenario day and night so that each battle with the "fire" can be won.

In the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police force of Nghe An Public Security, two typical faces - Major Pham Thanh Nam and Major Nguyen The Song - have clearly portrayed that image: one is dedicated on the strategic staff front, the other is directly courageous at the front line.

Architect of "safety shields"

From the very first days of his work, Major Pham Thanh Nam, Deputy Captain of the Fire Prevention Team, has been involved in staff work - a field that requires systematic thinking, strategic vision and carefulness in every word. His teammates often affectionately call him "the architect" of fire prevention plans. To him, each document and each plan is not simply an administrative document, but also a "shield" to protect people's lives and property from the risk of fire.

During his work, he has advised and implemented many important plans. Notably, he has concretized the Prime Minister 's Directive No. 01/CT-TTg on strengthening fire prevention and fighting in the new situation; at the same time, he has participated in removing difficulties for businesses in the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 220/CD-TTg. From his advice, many large-scale and methodical fire prevention and fighting drills and competitions have been organized, attracting a large number of people and businesses to participate, contributing to raising public awareness of fire prevention and handling skills.

Not only is he a good professional officer, Major Nam is also an enthusiastic Youth Union officer. As Secretary of the Youth Union, he has initiated many volunteer activities for the community, from donating blood, supporting people in flood-hit areas to organizing fire prevention and fighting propaganda for students. In 2023, he was honored to receive the Ly Tu Trong Award - a noble award from the Central Youth Union for outstanding Youth Union officers. In 2024, he continued to be honored by the Ministry of Public Security with the title of Emulation Fighter of the entire People's Public Security force.

To his teammates, he is not only a responsible leader, but also an inspiration, instilling confidence in youth, innovation and strategic thinking in the fire prevention and fighting force.

If Major Nam is the "architect" on the staff front, then Major Nguyen The Song, Captain of Fire Fighting and Rescue Team No. 2, is the one who regularly faces danger. For him, every time the fire alarm sounds, it is also a test of the courage and will of a firefighter.

During his work, he and his teammates have "rushed into the sea of ​​fire" many times to save people's lives. In December 2021, in a major fire in Ha Huy Tap Ward (old Vinh City), he directly commanded the scene and bravely brought two trapped victims to safety. In 2023, in a fire at Nghe An Petroleum Building, he promptly approached and saved a young girl who was panicking and standing precariously on the 27th floor.

These brave actions not only helped dozens of people escape the jaws of death, but also left a deep impression on the people. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Public Security and was honored many times as a grassroots Emulation Fighter. Notably, in 2025, Major Nguyen The Song was honored to receive the title of Emulation Fighter of the entire People's Public Security force - a worthy reward for a brave and dedicated soldier.

Not only stopping at actual battles, he also actively participated in scenario building, organizing drills, professional sports, contributing to improving the combat level and coordination of the entire force. For him, achievements not only come from bravery on the scene but also from careful, scientific preparation behind.

Spreading the noble values ​​of the People's Public Security soldiers

Regardless of their positions, both Major Pham Thanh Nam and Major Nguyen The Song exude common qualities: strong political will, good professional skills, humanity in action and dedication to the people. That is dedication without fear of danger, love for the profession, love for the people and silent sacrifice in exchange for peace and happiness for the community.
