NINH BINH ORGANIZES INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE "Resolving the relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development: Viewed from regional and local governance"

In order to identify theoretical issues, consult domestic and international scientists, experts, and managers, and serve the work of formulating policies and development strategies for the province in the coming time, on December 22, 2023, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Ninh Binh province coordinated with the Communist Magazine and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize an international scientific conference "Resolving the relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development: Viewed from regional and local governance".

Attending the workshop were comrades : Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports ; Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine; Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee. Along with domestic scientists and experts, there was also the presence of international researchers from Australia, Italy, Japan, UNESCO, the Southeast Asia Underground Cultural Heritage Conservation Fund...

Comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province delivered the opening speech at the Workshop.

With the aim of identifying solutions to harmonize the relationship between restoration, conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development, aiming at sustainable development on the basis of regional, inter-regional and local governance. The workshop is an opportunity to exchange and learn experiences in conservation and management work domestically and internationally, discuss orientations for restoration, conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, serving sustainable socio-economic development in the coming time, the workshop received 73 high-quality presentations from domestic and international researchers, scholars, experts and managers with 04 main topics:

- General awareness of resolving the relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development: viewed from regional and local governance.

- Practice in solving the relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development: from the perspective of regional and local governance.

- Practice in solving the relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage with socio-economic development: viewed from the perspective of local governance of Ninh Binh province.

- International and local experience in governance addresses the relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development.

Deeply recognizing the close relationship between restoration and conservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic development from the perspective of regional and local governance is important to arouse and promote soft power, converting cultural heritage resources into resources and driving forces for socio-economic development; at the same time, making cultural heritage increasingly spread and penetrate more deeply into activities of social life.

Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, delivered a closing speech at the Workshop.

Accordingly, the Workshop not only aims to solve the current problems of this relationship in the immediate future, but is also an important basis for solving fundamental and long-term problems, laying the foundation for building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, while contributing to promoting and introducing the potential, strengths, cultural and natural heritage of Ninh Binh province to domestic and international friends; raising awareness and responsibility of the community, promoting the restoration and preservation of cultural heritages associated with the socio-economic development of the province in particular and the whole country in general./.
