NTO - Provincial People's Committee: Economic press conference

On April 2, the Provincial People's Committee held a press conference on the socio -economic situation in the first quarter of 2024. Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the press conference. Attending the press conference were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, relevant departments, branches and units; press agencies in the province and resident press agencies in the province.

In the first quarter, the province's socio-economic situation achieved many positive results. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated at VND 5,812 billion, up 8.26% over the same period, ranking 10th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and 3rd out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions; the state budget revenue in the area is estimated at VND 1,207 billion, reaching 30.2% of the plan, up 36.3%; vocational training for 1,793 people, up 16.6% over the same period.

Regarding press activities, resident and local press agencies have fully and promptly informed about political events and major holidays of the country and the province; comprehensively and strongly propagated about local economics, politics, culture, society..., contributing to promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the province.

At the press conference, representatives of press agencies highly appreciated the results achieved by the province in the first quarter, and at the same time requested the provincial authorities to clarify a number of issues related to the provision of information on the province's socio-economic development situation to the press; state management work related to the fields of planning, land, and marine resources; slow-moving tourism projects; education management, outdoor education activities; criminal and civil cases occurring in the province.

Based on the opinions of the press agencies, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the leaders of relevant departments, branches and units received, responded and clarified the issues raised by the press.

Concluding the press conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of reporters and press agencies in the past time; clarified a number of issues of concern to reporters of press agencies. He thanked reporters of press agencies for accompanying and sharing, giving frank and constructive comments on issues of public concern, so that the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, localities and branches and units could grasp, direct inspection, handle and make timely adjustments. At the same time, he requested the functional departments and branches of the province to strengthen coordination with press agencies in providing and exchanging information promptly on issues of public concern in a complete, accurate and competent manner. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, press agencies in the province and reporters and journalists of press agencies operating in the province will continue to share and accompany the province in the development process.

Regarding the information orientation in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the press agencies to focus on timely and comprehensively propagating the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress; resolutions, plans, and programs for socio-economic development of the province in 2024. In particular, promote the propaganda of the Announcement Ceremony of the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and the Ninh Thuan Investment Promotion Conference with the theme "Ninh Thuan - Land of Convergence of Different Values"; the patriotic emulation movement in 2024 with the theme "Solidarity - Creativity - Discipline - Development - Acceleration - Efficiency", contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development in 2024 and the entire term 2020-2025.
