On the morning of October 7, at Cay Xoai residential group, Dong Gia Nghia ward, Lam Dong province, the groundbreaking ceremony of phase 2 of the National Historical Site Project of the Ho Chi Minh Trail (section from the Southern Central Highlands to the Southeast) took place.

This is one of the practical activities to welcome the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, and former leaders of Dak Nong province (old) through the periods attended the groundbreaking ceremony of phase 2 of the National Historical Relic Site Project. At 4:30 p.m. on October 30, 1960, at Cay Xoai residential group, Dong Gia Nghia ward, Group B90 in the North set out on a mission to clear the way and established contact with Group C200 in the South.

It was that sacred historical moment that connected the two strategic regions of the Central Highlands and the Southeast, opening the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail.

With that meaning, on December 9, 2013, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2383 on ranking the Truong Son Road - Ho Chi Minh Road Historical Site as a special national monument.

The project of the National Historical Site of the Ho Chi Minh Road (section from the Southern Central Highlands to the Southeast) was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1384 dated October 20, 2018 and approved by the People's Committee of Dak Nong province (old) in Decision No. 1838 dated November 2, 2021.

The project has a total investment of more than 62 billion VND, from the local budget and other legal capital sources, of which Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee supports 42 billion VND.

After implementing the two-level local government model, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned Dong Gia Nghia Ward People's Committee as the investor.

The project is implemented on a scale including many important items such as: Exhibition House, Administration House, Square and flower garden, Memorial stele house, Mango root relic milestone marking area.

Phase 1 of the project broke ground on July 20, 2023; Phase 2 is expected to be completed in 2027.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi emphasized: This National Historical Relic Site Project is not only a construction project, but also a tribute project, with traditional educational significance, expressing deep gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested the construction unit to speed up the progress, striving to complete the project in 2026, instead of the planned year of 2027.
