“I am happy and a little surprised. I never thought I would achieve this noble title. During my time studying at the Foreign Trade University, I always reminded myself to try my best to be worthy of the years of continuous effort in studying,” Minh Hanh said.

Hoang Thi Minh Hanh is a former English major student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted. She won the National English Encouragement Prize in 11th grade, the Third Prize in 12th grade, and has an IELTS 8.0 certificate. Her solid foreign language foundation has significantly supported her during her studies at the Foreign Trade University.

Sharing her secret to studying, Minh Hanh believes that it is a combination of proactive spirit, personal discipline and especially enthusiastic companionship. The female student herself always maintains the habit of reading and preparing for lectures. Thanks to that, when in class, Minh Hanh can focus on asking questions, arguing and connecting knowledge instead of just passively taking notes.

After school, 10X often looks for more reference materials such as books, newspapers, and analytical videos , and tries to grasp each part of knowledge before moving on to new content.

Minh Hanh also revealed her “golden rule” of not staying up late. After 11 pm, she will stop everything to rest, because she believes that the brain needs to regenerate to function more effectively.

“However, achievements do not only come from individual efforts. I am lucky to have a group of quality companions who always dare to think, dare to debate, dare to try and dare to make mistakes. We study together and encourage each other. It is this spirit of collective learning that helps me mature faster, not only in knowledge but also in thinking ,” the female student shared.

With a scientific learning method, Minh Hanh has won 5/7 scholarships to encourage learning from Foreign Trade University.

The new valedictorian of Foreign Trade University admitted that the biggest challenge during his time as a student was not in the books but in “peer pressure”. In a learning environment that gathered many outstanding faces: people with high GPAs, people who both did international exchanges and managed projects, and even friends who started their own businesses in their first year… the 10X generation was overwhelmed many times.

Sometimes, just browsing social media can make a female student feel stressed, because it seems like everyone is moving forward, while she has yet to do anything outstanding. However, instead of getting caught up in the comparison vortex, Minh Hanh chooses to turn pressure into motivation.

Every time she saw her friends win scholarships, appear in newspapers or win a contest, she told herself: “If they can do it, I will find a way to do it too.” This way of thinking helped her try harder.

According to Minh Hanh, the motivation to study first comes from oneself, because she believes that sustainable progress must start from inner strength, from trying a little harder every day.

“I don’t need any big leaps, just being persistent with the principle of being 1% better every day is enough to go very far,” the female student shared. Besides, family, teachers and friends are always a source of encouragement and inspiration for Hanh to continue moving forward, even in the most difficult times.

Since her third year of university, Minh Hanh has been involved in scientific research, focusing on the field of e-commerce. She is the author of two scientific articles, winning third prize in the school-level Student Scientific Research Competition for the 2023-2024 school year.

Not only having outstanding academic performance, Minh Hanh is also active in extracurricular activities, having held many key positions in student clubs and projects at Foreign Trade University.

“These experiences not only help me practice my research skills, critical thinking and scientific approach, but more importantly, they also show me the value of turning knowledge into practical contributions. Thanks to that, I learned to be patient, work effectively in a team and appreciate small but persistent efforts on the journey to conquer knowledge ,” Minh Hanh said.

After graduating, the new valedictorian of Foreign Trade University was accepted into a foreign company with a branch in Vietnam, working in the Logistics sector.

Minh Hanh said she wanted to take advantage of this period to gain practical experience, and at the same time determine her strengths and long-term orientation. For 10X, learning from a practical working environment is an important step to understand oneself before investing more deeply in the academic path.

In the future, Minh Hanh plans to continue studying for a master's degree in Logistics to equip herself with in-depth knowledge and expand her development opportunities.
