The Boer goat farming model - a high-yield foreign goat breed - brings high income to Mr. Nguyen Van Tu's family, Phu Cuong village, Hop Ly commune (Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province).

In 2019, Mr. Nguyen Van Tu's family started to implement a commercial Boer goat farming model with a barn size of about 200m2.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tu invested in buying 100 Boer goats, the total investment cost for building barns and buying breeding goats was more than 1 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tu's investment in raising foreign goats was made after he visited and learned from some goat raising models in localities inside and outside the province.

Through the raising process, it is seen that raising Boer goats has a lot of potential for development due to large market demand, the raising process is not too fussy or complicated.

In addition, according to Mr. Tu, while goats grow quickly, are highly productive, and produce a lot of meat, he decided to expand the scale of farming.

Currently, with a herd of more than 1,000 goats, over a period of more than 3 months, the goats will grow from an initial weight of about 20kg to 40-45kg when sold.

With the average selling price of goats at over 100,000 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, Mr. Nguyen Van Tu's family earns a profit of 500-600 million VND/year.

The goat farming model of farmer Nguyen Van Tu, Phu Cuong village, Hop Ly commune (Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province) is creating jobs for 3 local workers with an average income of more than 7 million VND/person/month.
