Leaders of the Trade Union of Sunjade Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd. gave gifts to workers in difficult circumstances.

For many years, the family of Ms. Le Thi Hue, a union member of Aleron Vietnam Shoe Company Limited, has lived in a dilapidated, rickety house. Every time it rains or is windy, the house seems to collapse. Ms. Hue suffered a serious traffic accident and had to undergo long-term treatment, so her health has declined. Her husband died early, and she struggled to raise two children alone, so the family's life has been difficult in many ways over the years. She wanted to build a new house, but difficult circumstances made it impossible, because the family's main income depended on her meager salary as a worker. And then the joy came when the Provincial Labor Federation decided to support her with 50 million VND from the Union Member Support Fund.

Ms. Hue said: “Thanks to the support of the trade unions at all levels, my family has a warm home to live in every day, to work and take care of our children with peace of mind. I hope this program will continue to be expanded so that many union members and workers in difficult circumstances can be supported to build houses and stabilize their lives.”

With the motto: "Where there are union members and workers in difficulty, there is a union", in recent times, activities to care for union members and social charity work have been promoted by all levels of unions; focusing on activities to protect, care for, support, and give gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. With creative approaches, unions at all levels have organized many practical activities to benefit union members and workers such as building a Fund to support union members and workers of Thanh Hoa Trade Union; organizing programs such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Workers' Month", "Workers' Festival - Charity Market", "Union member welfare", "Zero-dong stall", "Union meal"... On average, each year, unions at all levels sign dozens of welfare cooperation agreements to provide services and incentives for tens of thousands of union members and workers with a total benefit of over 15 billion VND. Thanh Hoa Trade Union's support fund for union members and employees in difficult circumstances supports union members and employees in difficult circumstances from 25 to 30 billion VND/year; organizes visits and presents over 300,000 gifts; renovates and repairs over 500 houses for employees in difficult circumstances...

In addition, trade unions at all levels actively mobilized employees to support the "For the Poor" and "Repaying Gratitude" Funds; visited and gave gifts to families of war invalids, martyrs, children of employees infected with Agent Orange, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; mobilized cadres, union members, and employees to support areas damaged by natural disasters and floods... demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and mutual love.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Vo Manh Son said: “Social charity activities have many practical and deeply humane meanings, demonstrating the concern of the trade union organization for union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Therefore, every year, trade unions at all levels widely launch social and humanitarian activities, creating close ties among union members and workers, demonstrating the spirit of “mutual love and affection” of each union member and trade union organization, contributing to the good implementation of social security policies, helping people in difficult circumstances to rise up in life”.

The above results show that social work and charity have created consensus among employees, spread union activities, raised awareness among union members, ensured social security, and improved the quality of life for union members and employees.
