(NLDO)- Students are given suggestions for lunch menus, notebook cover designs, safe and educational extracurricular venues...
Tran Hung Dao Primary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) has just organized the 3rd "Listening to Children's Voices" forum.
Here, students are given a special task. Accordingly, each class at the school will synthesize suggestions for attractive lunch menus, safe and educational extracurricular activity venues, and new notebook cover design and decoration ideas for the school. All these suggestions will be sent directly to the principal on the last day of February. This is not only an opportunity for students to freely express their personal wishes but also helps to practice teamwork skills, creative thinking and the ability to communicate ideas effectively.
Students confidently present their opinions at the forum.
This special task is one of many ways to listen to students' voices, encourage them to promote creativity and proactively contribute ideas from the Board of Directors and teachers of Tran Hung Dao Primary School.
According to the school leaders, the third "Listening to the Voices of Children" forum received 130 questions with 12 contents. Among them, the most questions were about children's rights and how to protect themselves against the risk of school violence, abuse prevention, safety in cyberspace, favorite extracurricular activities, the learning environment that children are studying in... Surprised by the confident and sharp questions is the common feeling of the program participants.
One student asked: "My friends use social networks, get negative feedback and then torture themselves, what should I do to help them?". Other questions emphasized the concerns of many students about school violence: "If we are bullied or threatened on social networks, what should we do and who should we report to? When adults do not respect children's opinions, what can children do to protect their right to express their opinions? What forms of violence against children are there? What should children do to be protected from violence and abuse?...".
Students are given special tasks when coming up with ideas for notebook covers and extracurricular venues.
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the forum also received questions directly related to the students' learning environment, proving that they have a thorough and profound observation and perception of the learning environment, daily events, and are ready to express their opinions and suggestions if necessary. A typical question is: "How will the school handle the situation when classes are deducted points for their behavior and uniforms? I hope the school will continue to have more activities so that we can meet and interact with students from other schools...".
More than 130 comments and questions were sent to the forum.
Ms. Le Thanh Huong, Principal of Tran Hung Dao Primary School, shared that all questions and wishes of the students were listened to and answered enthusiastically and clearly by the teachers.
"With the motto of building a happy school, where every student is respected and listened to, the school constantly innovates and improves education through these meaningful activities. The goal is to create a safe, fun learning environment, inspire creativity and provide opportunities for comprehensive development for students..." - Ms. Huong emphasized.
