FPT Schools launches responsible AI training project in Hai Phong

GD&TĐ - Nearly 300 secondary and high school teachers in Hai Phong City participated in the intensive training workshop Day of AI Vietnam.

Hai Phong, September 28, 2025,FPT Schools System in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong organized an intensive training workshop on Day of AI Vietnam for nearly 300 secondary and high school teachers, realizing the policy of "comprehensive digital transformation, popularization and strong application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in education and training" in the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

The training workshop with the theme "Day of AI Vietnam: Learning and teaching artificial intelligence responsibly" is part of a series of events under the Day of AI Vietnam program - an educational initiative of FPT Schools in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to popularize artificial intelligence (AI) for free to millions of Vietnamese teachers and students.

The training program brings practical value to teachers in the digital age.

In the context of the digital technology boom, especially AI, besides its strong potential, AI technology still has many potential risks, especially for the younger generation. It could be the abuse of AI causing the loss of self-learning and critical thinking ability, giving rise to a mentality of dependence and lack of motivation to study. Undirected approach to AI causes students to "misunderstand" their own abilities, or to commit academic fraud, copying from AI without practicing honesty and responsibility.

Deeply aware of these issues, from the 2025-2026 school year, FPT Schools officially launched the Day of AI Vietnam program, including a series of non-profit activities organized nationwide to disseminate knowledge about Responsible AI to teachers and students.

The core difference of the program is that instead of teaching how to use AI tools, it provides teachers and students with the technical concepts and ethical issues behind these tools.

Technology expert Le Ngoc Tuan, Director of Technology Experience of FPT Education (FPT Group), Director of Day of AI Vietnam, said: “Through the program, we hope to create a solid foundation of thinking for Vietnamese students, aiming to build a future generation of citizens with enough knowledge, skills and ethical awareness to not only adapt but also proactively shape an increasingly smarter world.”

Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, Director of Technology Experience, FPT Education (FPT Corporation), Director of Day of AI Vietnam shared at the workshop.

Hai Phong, with its tradition of studiousness, innovative spirit and strong educational digital transformation movement, is the first locality to cooperate with FPT to implement the program. FPT Schools aims to share 1 million free AI learning accounts on the online learning platform Coursera by 2027. In Hai Phong alone, the program will provide 50,000 accounts to students and teachers.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Dang Hoang Anh, an expert from the Department of Continuing Education, Vocational Training and Universities, Hai Phong Department of Education and Training, said: “Education needs to equip students with digital thinking, digital capacity, creativity, and humanistic and ethical values ​​to use AI. Day of AI is an important tool to help managers and teachers approach international standards on AI. Today's program is not just a course, but also a strong commitment of the Hai Phong education sector, ready to accompany students to overcome challenges and seize opportunities to enter the digital future.”

Mr. Dang Hoang Anh, specialist of the Department of Continuing Education, Vocational Training and Universities, Hai Phong Department of Education and Training, gave a keynote speech at the workshop.

The training workshop provided basic knowledge, learning materials as well as methods of integrating AI into teaching for nearly 270 typical teachers from secondary schools, high schools, and local continuing education centers. After the training, they will become the core force to deploy Day of AI Vietnam classes for Hai Phong students.

Teachers had the opportunity to meet and exchange directly with FPT technology experts, as well as receive direct guidance from a team of experienced teachers from FPT Hai Phong Secondary and High School.

The system of theories and practical exercises is vivid, easy to understand, and accessible even for non-technological people. The lectures are localized, adjusted, and supplemented from the international Day of AI documents, divided into modules suitable for each grade and age, suitable for teachers to use as teaching materials, visual illustrations right in the lessons of Information Technology, Technology, STEM...

Previously, FPT Schools pioneered the integration of AI into the enhanced training program for 100% of students in the entire system from 2023. With the strong implementation of the Day of AI Vietnam program, FPT Schools hopes to accompany teachers in spreading knowledge about AI in the right way, so that Vietnamese students not only have early access to AI but also master this technology, practice critical thinking, ethical awareness and responsibility when using AI.
