Mr. Le Hoai Trung was assigned as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

(Chinhphu.vn) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1868/QD-TTg dated August 29, 2025 to receive Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assigning the authority of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the decision to Mr. Le Hoai Trung.

The above decision takes effect from August 29, 2025.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung was born in 1961, hometown in Hue city, is a member of the Party Central Committee, term XII, XIII, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, term XIII (from October 2023), and a National Assembly Delegate, term XV.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung has many years of experience working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , holding the following positions: Deputy Director of the Department of International Organizations, Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, Acting Director, then Director of the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In December 2010, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. From March 2021, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Central External Relations Commission; in February 2025, he was appointed to the position of Chief of the Party Central Office.

* Previously, the President decided to temporarily suspend Mr. Bui Thanh Son - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs from holding the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs until the 15th National Assembly dismisses him from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
