Trump could reverse nearly 100 of Biden's executive orders

(Dan Tri) - US President-elect Donald Trump could reverse dozens of President Joe Biden's executive orders in his first week in office, an aide said.

"There will be a reversal of all the executive orders that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris signed to reverse the policies that were effective during Trump's first term," President-elect Donald Trump's campaign press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told Fox News over the weekend.

Ms Leavitt said the 94 executive orders Mr Biden signed in his first week in office had led to a "border crisis and an economic crisis".

"That's why President-elect Donald Trump will reverse the Biden-Harris administration's policies," said Ms. Leavitt.

She added that Mr. Trump will sign dozens of executive orders in his first week in the White House.

Mr. Trump was re-elected after winning the US presidential election on November 5 against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. He is scheduled to take office on January 20 next year.

His Republican Party also regained control of the Senate and is likely to control the House of Representatives as well. If the Republican Party controls both houses, it will be easier for the Party to pass policies and laws in the Trump administration.

One of the policies that he is particularly interested in is the policy related to immigration control. During the election campaign, Mr. Trump mentioned a plan to deport illegal immigrants on a large scale.

President-elect Trump earlier this week selected Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to head border operations in the incoming administration.

In a post on the social network Truth, Mr. Trump said Mr. Homan will be in charge of monitoring the country's border areas, including the southern and northern borders as well as all maritime and aviation security. In addition, Mr. Homan will also be in charge of deporting all illegal immigrants.
