VnExpressVnExpress28/03/2024

Mr. Trump leads President Biden by 5 percentage points in a hypothetical rematch, according to the latest Fox News poll.

A poll released by conservative media outlet Fox News on March 27 showed former President Donald Trump with 50% support and President Joe Biden with 45% in a hypothetical race to the White House. This is also the largest margin Trump has achieved over his Democratic opponent in Fox News' national polls.

Mr. Trump, 77, also maintains a lead over Mr. Biden, 81, in a hypothetical five-candidate race.

Accordingly, 43% of registered voters said they would support Trump, 38% chose to support Mr. Biden. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nephew of the late US President John F. Kennedy, received 12% support, down 3 points from November 2023. Green Party candidate Jill Stein and unaffiliated candidate Cornel West received 2%.

The survey was conducted March 22-25 among 1,094 voters nationwide, with a margin of error of three percentage points. Respondents were asked in person, by phone or online.

The survey also found that only 22% of respondents said their income was better than four years ago, with 52% saying it was "worse".

Voters trust Mr. Trump on immigration and the economy , but lean toward Mr. Biden on election integrity and health care, which are also the four issues that voters care about most in this year's presidential election.

President Biden's job performance rating is at 41%, down one point from last month. 58% of respondents disapprove of his job performance.

A Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released on March 26 showed that Mr. Trump still leads Mr. Biden in all seven battleground states that are likely to decide the November presidential election, with a 47% and 43% lead, respectively. However, President Biden is narrowing the gap with his predecessor in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin, Mr. Biden leads Mr. Trump by one point, after trailing by 4 points in a February poll. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, the two candidates are tied at 45%. The February poll showed Mr. Trump leading by 2 points in Michigan and 6 points in Pennsylvania.

Biden’s approval ratings improved in part after his State of the Union address earlier this month, when he compared his agenda to Trump’s rhetoric and actions while in office. The US president then campaigned heavily in Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, former President Trump has held only one campaign event since securing enough delegates to become the Republican Party's nominee on March 12.
