Lao Delegation to the United Nations congratulates Vietnam on 80th National Day

Ambassador Thongphane Savanphet thanked Vietnam for supporting Laos in successfully fulfilling its role as ASEAN Chair in 2024.

Ambassador, Head of the Delegation Thongphane Savanphet sent his best wishes to Ambassador Do Hung Viet and all staff of the Vietnamese Delegation and their families on the occasion of National Day, February 9.

Joining the joyful atmosphere celebrating the historic August Autumn days of the Vietnamese people, in New York City, USA, Ambassador Thongphane Savanphet led a delegation of leaders and key officials of the Lao Permanent Mission to the United Nations to congratulate Ambassador Do Hung Viet and the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the United Nations right before the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Ambassador, Head of the Delegation Thongphane Savanphet sent his best wishes to Ambassador Do Hung Viet and all the staff of the Vietnamese Delegation and their families on this special occasion of the Vietnamese people. Appreciating the close and trustworthy coordination between the two Delegations in the past time, the Lao Ambassador thanked Vietnam for supporting Laos to successfully fulfill its role as ASEAN Chair in 2024, and expressed his wish to continue to strengthen cooperation more closely and effectively in the coming time.

Ambassador, Head of the Delegation Do Hung Viet thanked Ambassador Thongphane Savanphet and Lao comrades and colleagues for their good and sincere sentiments towards Vietnam. On this occasion, the Head of the Vietnamese Delegation congratulated Laos on successfully fulfilling its role as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in New York in 2024, and believed that Laos would continue to successfully fulfill its role as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in 2025.

The two Ambassadors agreed to continue promoting the tradition and good results of cooperation between the two Delegations in New York, supporting each other and coordinating effectively on issues of mutual concern at the United Nations.

In a friendly atmosphere, full of comradeship and brotherhood, the two Ambassadors expressed their joy at the development of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; agreed to continue promoting the tradition and good cooperation results between the two Delegations in New York, supporting each other and coordinating effectively on issues of mutual concern at the United Nations.
