Promoting the role of youth in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in the era of national growth

On July 11, 2025, the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) organized a seminar with the theme: "Promoting the role of youth in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the era of national development". This is the first activity of the Executive Committee of the Ministry's Youth Union for the new term, marking the beginning of a new journey, and at the same time, the opening event in response to the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, term 2025-2030.

Speaking at the opening of the Seminar, comrade Tran Xuan Bach, member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, member of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the Central Agencies, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology emphasized that the Seminar is not only an opportunity to review Ho Chi Minh's ideology, but also an opportunity for young people in the science and technology sector to define their roles and responsibilities in the face of new requirements in the era of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation (S&T, ST&CDS). This is a period that requires young cadres to not only be good at their profession but also have political mettle, professional ethics and a desire to contribute.

With that spirit, the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology commits in the new term: To continue to closely follow the leadership of the Party Committee and the Ministry's leaders; to effectively implement the work of the union and youth movement; to closely connect with the political tasks of the Ministry and the entire science and technology sector.

Comrade Tran Xuan Bach, member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, member of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of Central Agencies, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology delivered the opening speech at the Seminar.

At the seminar, Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Party Building, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, presented the topic "Youth of the Ministry of Science and Technology studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style to master science and technology, leading the country firmly into a new era". The topic deeply analyzed the role of youth in transforming Ho Chi Minh's ideology into concrete actions, contributing to training high-quality human resources to serve the cause of integration, development of science and technology, innovation and national modernization.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Party Building, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, shared at the seminar.

Sharing about the role of union members and students in national digital transformation", Comrade Ha Manh Dung, Chief of the Office of the Youth Union of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications, emphasized that youth are the pioneering force in receiving and mastering digital knowledge, creating digital economy, leading digital society and protecting the Fatherland in cyberspace. Accordingly, the role of the young generation is comprehensively demonstrated on four pillars: Pioneering in receiving and mastering digital technology; Core in creating and developing digital economy; Leading in building digital society and government; Strategy in protecting national cybersecurity. "With knowledge and dedication, the generation of Vietnamese union members and students is ready to take on the historic mission, contributing to the aspiration of building a powerful, prosperous and civilized digital Vietnam", he affirmed.

Comrade Ha Manh Dung, Chief of Office of the Youth Union of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications shared at the seminar.

In the speech "Youth pioneers in applying scientific research results into practice", comrade Nguyen Anh Viet, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), highlighted the role of youth in connecting science and technology with life. From effective R&D models to technology cooperation programs with domestic and foreign enterprises of VKIST, many research results have been transferred to serve the community, typically the integrated water treatment system for schools in Ben Tre, Soc Trang, Quang Ngai; cooperation with ALUKO Vietnam in developing solutions for resource recovery and industrial wastewater treatment; organizing free STEM classes and popularizing science activities for students. These models show the great potential of youth in bringing knowledge into life, promoting technology to serve the community and contributing to sustainable development.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Viet, Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology shared at the seminar.

At the Seminar, delegates enthusiastically exchanged and discussed the study and practice of Uncle Ho's teachings in a practical way, closely linked to the specific characteristics of scientific research, innovation, policy making and industrialization in the field of science and technology. Thereby, clarifying the responsibility of the Youth Union in spreading Ho Chi Minh's thoughts through specific, practical actions that are suitable to the industry's reality. The sharing at the Seminar opened up many new perspectives on the vanguard role of youth in the era of science and technology, innovation and industrialization.

Closing the program, the Discussion contributed to kindling the belief, sense of responsibility and desire to serve in each youth union member. Thereby, clearly affirming the position, role and potential contribution of the youth of the Ministry of Science and Technology in realizing the major goals of the industry, gradually making science and technology, innovation and digital transformation become the key driving force for the sustainable development of the country in the new era.
