Developing Bac Ha district to become a special destination of Lao Cai province

According to the Project's content, the goal set by 2025 is that Bac Ha district will welcome over 1 million visitors, of which about 9,000 are international visitors; strive to welcome over 2.5 million visitors by 2030, of which about 27,000 are international visitors; by 2050, welcome over 5.5 million visitors, of which about 72,000 are international visitors.

Total revenue from tourists will reach over 1,000 billion VND by 2025; strive to reach nearly 5,200 billion VND by 2030; and over 20,000 billion VND by 2050.

By 2025, the proportion of tourism in the district's total product will account for about 8 - 10%, by 2030 it will account for about 27 - 28%; by 2050 it will account for about 36 - 38%.

By 2025, jobs will be created for about 13,200 workers (including 4,400 direct workers); by 2030, jobs will be created for about 33,300 workers (including 11,100 direct workers); by 2050, jobs will be created for about 78,000 workers (including 26,000 direct workers).

To achieve the above goal, from now until 2023, Bac Ha district will focus on building tourism products such as:

Bac Ha White Plateau tourism products, specifically building landscape areas for sightseeing and experience: discovery , adventure, "cloud hunting" and resort tourism.

Bac Ha Market tourism product, in addition to the current traditional market areas, will also connect to the Na Co walking street area.

Traditional horse racing in Bac Ha, specifically: Exploiting the outstanding value of the "horse racing festival" which is one of the most unique festivals in the Northwest region to orient tourism product development, form functional areas, and invest in tourism infrastructure.

Comprehensive sports tourism - Bac H'adventure, specifically: Exploiting the district with high mountain terrain, rugged mountain terrain, river system, streams, rapids, especially Chay River with beautiful landscape is very favorable to develop "Comprehensive sports tourism with the brand name Bac H'Adventure".

Along with that, there will be orientation to build and upgrade destinations to meet the conditions to become special tourist destinations by 2023 and National Tourist Areas with a vision to 2050.

It is known that in the period of 2018-2023, the growth rate of tourists to Bac Ha district is quite high, reaching 10.20%/year, equivalent to that of Lao Cai province (reaching 10.44%/year). The growth rate of total revenue from tourists in Bac Ha district is quite high, reaching 15.23%/year, higher than that of Lao Cai province (the province reached 10.41%/year)./.
