Charity market, sowing love in remote areas

The charity market is a meaningful civil activity organized by Regiment 5.

On the morning of July 26, the atmosphere in Tan Hoa commune, a remote commune of Tay Ninh province, suddenly became more bustling and warmer than usual. In the bright morning sunshine, the laughter of children and the cheerful eyes of the elderly lit up a festival.

The charity market area organized by Regiment 5 in coordination with local authorities and sponsors was crowded very early.

The market does not have goods for sale as usual, but instead, essential gifts are carefully prepared by officers and soldiers of the Regiment to give directly to people in difficult circumstances.

More than 300 gifts including rice, sugar, cooking oil and daily necessities are neatly arranged in each booth.

In particular, many products such as green squash, fresh gourds, etc. are grown by the officers and soldiers of the Regiment in the production gardens, bringing with them the sweat, effort and heart of the soldiers.

For officers and soldiers of Regiment 5, this is not only a mass mobilization activity, but also an opportunity to live fully with the ideal of military-civilian unity.

Not only that, more than 3,000 new notebooks were also given to poor students as a word of encouragement, to help them on their path of study ahead. Arriving early, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay emotionally shared: “I walked more than a kilometer to get here. Hearing that soldiers from Regiment 5 came to give gifts, I was very happy.”

For the people here, the image of the soldier is not only associated with the task of protecting the Fatherland but also a familiar support in daily life.

Local people happily receive goods from the market.

For the officers and soldiers of Regiment 5, this is not only a mass mobilization activity, but also an opportunity to live fully with the ideal of the army and the people like fish and water. It is a place where they can experience reality, practice more courage and qualities, and feel more deeply the sacred meaning of the soldier's uniform in peacetime.
