Phu Quoc determined to build civilized streets and beaches to welcome APEC 2027

Phu Quoc is currently resolutely implementing and mobilizing people to join hands to build a civilized and clean street and beach to welcome the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in 2027 (APEC 2027).

On October 1, Major Nguyen Duy Hieu - Deputy Chief of Phu Quoc Special Zone Police - informed that the unit has a plan and advised the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone to build a civilized road with many stages, including: mobilizing people and businesses on DT.975 road (Duong Dong - Cua Lap section) to commit to not encroaching on the road, keeping the environment clean, and ensuring security and order in the beach area.

In addition, in early October 2025, the unit will mobilize to clean up, inspect and handle those who intentionally violate the law to complete the civilized road.

"During the implementation process, we propagated to get people to commit to joining hands to make Phu Quoc urban area clean, beautiful and civilized to serve APEC 2027," said Major Hieu.

The People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone said that the DT.975 road project is one of the infrastructures serving APEC 2027. This road is about 24km long, connecting from Phu Quoc International Airport to the APEC Conference Center in An Thoi.

The road is of great importance and is a key traffic axis on the island, contributing to the socio -economic development and tourism on the island.

However, there are still many households encroaching on this road, placing advertising boards and advertisements, but through a period of mobilization, many people and businesses have become aware, accompanied and committed to the locality not to encroach, causing loss of urban beauty.
