Phuc Huynh entered the finals of PPA Asia 2025 for the first time

On the morning of August 30, Phuc Huynh defeated the reigning men's singles champion of the PPA Tour Asia - Hong Kong Open 2025 to enter the system final in Fukuoka, Japan.

At the decisive moment, Phuc Huynh continued to hit shots to the two corners of the court, making Jack Wong completely passive until the score reached 9-4 for the Vietnamese player. But Jack recovered to 8-9 before making a mistake on the decisive point and losing 11-8 after 3 games.

Phuc Huynh's convincing victory over Jack Wong helped him "pay back the debt" of losing 0-2 in Ho Chi Minh City 2 weeks earlier. At the same time, the 2000-born player entered the final of the PPA Asia Tour for the first time. Phuc Huynh's opponent was the No. 1 seed from PPA USA, Connor Garnett.

After the match, Phuc said: "Thank you Jack Wong for a great match. Game 1 was really emotional when I was down 4-10. I was really shocked and tried to pull myself together to get back up.

I tried to maintain stability in my movements to make decisions on my shots. Even though I lost game 2, it still gave me the confidence to finish game 3 and enter the final of the PPA Asia Japan Open."

Phuc Huynh's opponent is "guest" Connor Garnett, ranked 3rd in men's singles at PPA USA. The match will take place on the morning of August 31 in Fukuoka city, Japan.
