Phung Khanh Linh looks back on the time she overcame family turmoil

(Dan Tri) - Singer-songwriter Phung Khanh Linh admitted that her father's sudden passing was a big shock to her.

During her recent return to the stage, Phung Khanh Linh attracted attention when she opened up about a family incident that deeply affected her. The singer said that the shock came in October 2024, while she was completing the final songs of her third studio album, titled Among Ten Thousand People .

The singer's father suddenly passed away after a stroke. What haunted her the most was the image of her father lying in the coffin. At that moment, she realized that fame, glory, and money were things she could not take with her when she left.

At that time, Phung Khanh Linh had to postpone her musical activities. She even wanted to run away because she could not bear this great loss. But then, the female singer overcame it herself.

“For many years, I longed to be seen among thousands of people. But after going through many events, I realized that what I needed was not the gaze of others, but the ability to see myself,” Phung Khanh Linh confided.

After more than two years of preparation, Phung Khanh Linh recently released the album Among Ten Thousand People . The product not only marks a turning point in the artist's music but also shows her serious and persistent investment in her artistic path.

The album consists of 12 songs, including 8 completely new songs, reflecting an artist's inner journey between reality and dreams. The singer said she wanted to tell her own journey - between light and darkness, between desire and fear.

For Phung Khanh Linh, this album is a journey of healing, a thank you for love, hurt, loss and loneliness - all of which have contributed to creating a calmer, more grateful and deeper Phung Khanh Linh.

Just 4 hours after its release, the album and its songs quickly appeared on music charts.

Phung Khanh Linh (born 1994) became known when she participated in "The Voice Vietnam 2015" in singer Thu Phuong's team. In 2019, the song "Today I'm Sad" composed and performed by her became a popular hit.

At the end of 2020, the female singer released her debut album "Yesteryear" with 3,000 copies, receiving nominations for Album of the Year and Musician of the Year at the Dedication Music Awards.

In November 2024, Phung Khanh Linh released her second album "Citopia", which ranked high on Spotify Vietnam.
