Overloaded with receiving capacity, Quang Trung Waste Treatment Area recommends the province to coordinate

According to the company, the unit is currently receiving and processing domestic waste from 8 localities: Thong Nhat, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach, Trang Bom, Cam My, Tan Phu, Long Khanh and part of Bien Hoa city with an average volume of 1,200 tons/day brought to Quang Trung Waste Treatment Area, the correct licensed capacity.

However, since the beginning of June, the amount of waste coming to the treatment area has fluctuated between 1.3 and 1.6 thousand tons/day, exceeding the licensed capacity. The main reason is that during the rainy season, the amount of water seeping into the waste increases the volume, and during the fruit season, more organic waste from fruit peels is generated.

Following the province’s direction, the company has recently completed the treatment of nearly 2,000 tons of waste remaining in districts and cities. However, according to local reports, there are still about 4,200 tons remaining.

In the coming time, the company will not only receive daily generated waste but also flexibly receive and process residual waste. However, due to the licensed capacity of only 1,200 tons/day, the company recommends that the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Environment direct localities to coordinate in regulating the amount of residual waste to other waste treatment areas in the province to reduce pressure on the Quang Trung Waste Treatment Area and reduce the risk of environmental pollution.
