Vietcombank is one of four banks participating in the sale of SJC gold bars. Immediately after providing the gold bar sale service, all the four banks' points of sale in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were overloaded.

In this situation, Vietcombank announced that it will only provide SJC gold bar sales service to customers who have registered to buy SJC gold bars online on the bank's website since June 12. Customers need to access Vietcombank's official website, register an account, then register to buy SJC gold bars at the desired location. If the registration is successful, the person wishing to buy will receive an appointment confirmation with information about the location, time of payment and delivery of gold.

Many customers said that this form is actually lining up to reserve a spot online to be able to buy gold bars. Customers successfully register online to receive a "spot" and then conduct the transaction directly at the point of sale, not the gold sale being conducted online as many people mistakenly believe.

From June 12, to buy SJC gold bars from Vietcombank, customers need to register an account and then register to buy gold through the bank's online booking system.

Similar to queuing for direct purchases, this "online queuing" to reserve a spot immediately showed signs of being overloaded on the first morning of implementation. Many customers reported that registering for an account was quite easy, although the website loading speed was a bit slow. On the morning of June 12, most customers received a notification "please choose another transaction point or come back to register on the next working day because VCB has received enough customers for today". Many customers tried to re-register for the next day but were unsuccessful.

Online booking is overloaded in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

"Overloaded, full of seats right after registration opened", "booking online to buy gold is harder than buying tickets for a big football match or a Black Pink show" are many complaints from customers.

Through the survey, young people support this online registration, which will reduce the crowding in front of gold selling locations. However, the elderly, those who are not tech-savvy and are used to online registration will have more difficulty. Ms. Kim Ngoc (Dong Da district) said: "I just found out this morning that if I want to buy gold at Vietcombank's selling point, I have to successfully register online and then receive a notification, I am not used to this."

In addition to Vietcombank conducting online reservations, other points of sale of Viettinbank, Agribank , BIDV still conduct gold sales by direct queuing. At the points of sale of these 3 banks, the situation of overload and jostling is still happening.
